The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

@Red Dreams Are you angling for Kellyanne's job? Because you were talking about the thread, Ubik answered about the thread, and then you flipped it towards the election... you're doing a good job, just not sure Kellyanne will let it go so easily.

I swear I see far more mentions of Cina (or indeed his mum) than I do posts by him. I think we must generally frequent rather different threads.

I would say, given that, I feel I should give him the benefit of the doubt, but then, I think the few posts I've seen may have been sufficient to remove doubt.
Nah, I think he just got a life and stopped posting as much.

Why would people assume all Sanders supporters were Democrats or even leaned Democrat? Polling just before the election showed something like 72% of Sanders supported Clinton. His support base however was far broader than traditional Dem voters which is why it was such a crying shame that he lost the primary. He'd have destroyed Trump.

Firstly, the polls were mostly wrong. The primaries showed that Far more people who had not voted in a normal Republican primary came out for Trump.
Anecdotally I know of several cases where Sanders supporters voted third party, did not vote at all or even voted for Trump. Sure many also voted for Hillary. This has been discussed before so I wont go into it again. Trumps victory was a fluke in many ways. He carried key mid west states. Hillary ran up the vote in the West.

Is this a promise?

The golden shower story is so absurd that it has to be either an instance of epic trolling, or true.
Hilarious and definately could be true. I watched the John McAfee doc last week and thought to myself that this guy is similar in some ways to Trump. They spoke to a couple of his live in local girlfriends and they said they never had vaginal sex, instead he would cut a hole in a hammock and make them crap in his mouth. His toxoplasmosis levels must be through the roof, same with trump from rolling in the amber nectar.

No they weren't. They were within the margin of error for the EC and predicted the popular vote to a good standard. For them to be mostly wrong would rely on them to be outside the margin of error, if you're expecting a poll to be 100% accurate then that's on you.

@Red Dreams
"Congrats for missing the point."
What is the point?
You were to the left of Hillary, when Bernie lost you decided that policies matter less than corruption and opposed her on that basis, but are now celebrating the "anti-establishment" Trump who is corrupt, and openly so? What is the point, indeed.

@Ubik
Among the addicted early posters in that thread, it was InfiniteBoredom and you for HRC vs Red Dreams, langster and me (Bernie) among the regular posters, with Raoul flitting from Bernie to Rubio and back before settling on Clinton. It wasn't a "collective orgasm", it was probably 2:1 (2/3rd pro Bernie).

Why don't you tell me what's going on in Syria, and why are we (US/West) there?

What did I say to deserve this line of questioning, you're taking the piss aren't ya?

Anyway, is the underlying point you're trying to make that it's not just Russia/Putin, but also the 'West' who are commiting war crimes in Syria?

The number of posts in favour of Bernie was similar to the ratio of support Hilary got in the election.

If it has been invented, kudos to the person who did it. It fits so perfectly with Drumpf's image. I'm confident that if it exists, we'll learn what kind of sex the second tape covers (audio only, if what Paul Wood was told is correct). Time will tell if what I expect comes up.

Maybe my perception is skewed by me perennially replying to ubik/Infi, but what I remember form the thread was argument (about policies and then about polls and then about Clintons' 1990s history) not consensus.

Possibly, and mine might be spending months going back and forth with @langster taking the piss out the Republicans and and drooling over Bernie, but there were definitely a lot more of us firmly in the "Bernie gets it" train.

I'd say @Nikhil was strongly for Sanders as well

I'm not pushing a conspiracy theory of cloak, daggers, secret hand shakes and symbols but I do think it's clear the far-right of many western countries are combining resources to come to power for the benefit of shared agendas.

It's natural that populists, outsiders in their own countries, aiming is to overthrow conventional liberal orthodoxy, should be interested in the progress of like-minded politicians across the Western world, as a possible bellwether of their own chances of ultimate success.

Brexit and Trump's election victory were greatly energizing for the populist right across Europe and America. If Tony Blair can consult with Bill Clinton on his path to election triumph, why shouldn't Marine Le Pen talk with Donald Trump?

This thread/forum is unimportant.
I was addressing the fact most Sanders supporters did not listen to him and vote for Hillary.

A lot of them still did, if we're talking active Sanders supporters. The third parties failed to make much of an impact and Hilary still won the popular vote by a decent margin.

Raoul was Rubio?!

Specialists now need to be approved (which they never gave me problems anyway), prescriptions went up from $5 to $20 so between me, wife and kids we are talking about over $200 a month, now I have to pay a co-payment for specialists and hospital visit, so not too bad yet besides the premium going up every year and the prescriptions went up 4 times the rest is about the same.
That is all cost control. This has been trending this way since 1999 and I'm sure before. ACA didn't cause it nor did it prevent it. The major differences are:

ACA has resulted in every plan having strict regulations to prevent the carrier screwing you over. You are unlikely to ever appreciate that unless the worst strikes your family.
20,000,000 have coverage who didn't before and the country is at an all time record low for percent of people uninsured.

How that can be considered a disaster from the start I don't know.

Rudy advising Trump on cyber security? WTF?

During an appearance on Thursday's Fox & Friends talk show, former NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani announced that he would be forming a cybersecurity team for President-elect Trump. According to the Trump Transition's official announcement, the team would advise the President-elect on issues "concerning private sector cyber security problems and emerging solutions developing in the private sector." Presumably, this will entail more than simply writing things down on paper and having them delivered by courier.

The B Street Band is reportedly playing at the inauguration. They're a Bruce Springsteen cover band. Would this be a first in terms of performers? I can't imagine anyone else would actually hire a cover band, especially one of a living artist.

Don't know about those kudos man, if anything it looks like an obvious parody/troll attempt on watergate (with 'watersports' being slang for golden showers and stuff). Which obviously doesn't have to mean there's no compromising material on Trump, and I do agree that Trump's image is so ridiculous you can't put anything beyond him, but that's more because of himself than because of the brilliance of the story.

I could have went my whole life happily without knowing that.

I got that but nevertheless I think that if 10 people were given the task to invent a juicy story with compromising material on him, only one would have come up with Golden Showers.

Check post counts :p (RD and I slowed down or stopped by September)

I followed the election very intensely and spent a lot of time reading up on it. But didn't post a lot in that thread. I would read it everyday. But didn't post much. Was very busy with other stuff. Couldn't match you guys. :p
