Seeing comments that the footage SHS had tweeted out is doctored and slightly sped up to make this look a bigger deal than it actually was.

Footage was apparently doctored by Inforwars too. The White House are putting out actual Infowars propaganda. Think about saying that and it actually being true :wenger:

Trying to force in questions out of turn and holding on to the microphone when an aide (?!) tries to take it from you certainly is not polite or acceptable behaviour. Trump reacting badly to it does not vindicate Acosta's behaviour.

It was his turn initially no?

He asked a question and trump responded with just Snipes instead of answering it and then moving on which made it bit heated from both sides.

Can fault either here but just because he didn't like a question from the reporter, can trump get away with just personal Snipes or comments about the organization and move on?

Anyway he should have let it go if it was restricted to 1 per question which apparently it wasn't totally. But either way wasn't a assault or close to it.

American citizens shouldn’t just protest - they should go on mass scale riots and not stop until he’s removed from the presidency. Playing nicely is going to get you guys nowhere apart from sleepwalking into a second term and the irreversible erosion of your democracy.

Trump's treatment of Acosta was just disgraceful and unacceptable. Now revoking his pass on a trumped up charge os assault just compounds his error. How the fcuk is this even happening?
It really wasn't. If this was Obama instead of Trump, everyone would have called Acosta disgraceful instead.

Acosta deserved everything he got, and revoking his press pass was totally justified.

The WH Press Corp should all take a knee while asking questions at Sanders next presser.

See I would agree with this if Trump's answers or his behaviour would've been relatively normal during yesterday's press conference. It obviously wasn't, never has been since he started running for office.

Imagine Merkel spouting nonsense like that during a conference, at some point actually insinuating that a random black woman who asked a question is the real racist in the room. You don't expect journalists to press her and call her out on that shite? They should just say yes and amen after one question and a bulsshite answer, and make a salute while they're at it or something?

First of all people who think they don't have to follow the rules because they are "in the right" are rarely a good thing. Acosta also was not defending the integrity of democracy or his colleagues, or trying to uncover deeper truths, he was asking whether Trump was afraid of Müller, something which he probably gets asked and answers every day, an attempt to grab a cheap headline. It's not like this does anyone any good. People who hate Trump will take this to hate on Trump, people from the other side will be upset about Acosta's lack of respect and people who are in the middle will probably be disgusted at this circus. No one will say "Jim Acosta, hero of the people, you asking whether he was afraid of Müller really opened my eyes!", at best it created more division among Americans.
I also find it quite disrespectful of Acosta towards his colleagues, in particular the one who Trump promted to ask the next question, to just act as if their questions don't matter.

Trump being his usual despicable self does not change any of this.

Then by all means remove Acosta's Hard Press Pass because of this but instead the reason's given by Sanders was that he put his hands on an intern which is patently false.

That's just part of the game everyone in America is playing. Trump's side will spin their bullshit and CNN/Acosta will love it and sell themselves as a martyr for press freedom.

If I was Trump yesterday, I would have started whistling or booing when Acosta was refusing to give the microphone and was asked to sit down (cause he already made two questions, to which surprisingly Trump replied actually quite respectful), then call him a dick, and revoke his press.

Acosta was an ass. It’s ok to admit that. It’s also ok to support him acting like an ass.

There’s blood in the water at the moment and it’s good to see the media finally being brave enough to cross the line and fight fire with Fire.

The White House has (obviously) fcuked the whole thing up. Trump did his thing. The presser was a car crash.

Acosta was still an ass though.

Sorry but that is absolute bollocks. The last sentence is probably the biggest load of shit I have ever read on this whole site and that includes people saying Messi is better than Ronaldo. Fml.

They even have Ben Shapiro talking sense :nervous:

It's actually mental they are claiming assault. The whole thing is like a bit from Seinfeld where George himself gets into a situation.

Quite Presidential. Given the treatment of Obama over 8 years by conservatives, Trump has it quite easy to be fair. Obama deserved none of the hate and vitriol directed at him. Trump however, thrives on truculence so it's quite obvious he'd get a reciprocated response.

Acosta wasn't suspended for being rude. They accused him of improperly touching a lady .
That's bullshit.

That sounds an awful lot like some boring version of 'Ordnung muss sein', which is not the point at all here.

I mean feck CNN and feck Jim Acosta, I don't even really know whoever the feck he is. But I don't think what you're saying there is a correct represenation of the facts, simply because that's not how their dialogue went. Here's the video, now tell me again he didn't ask a valid question first, and immediately started taunting him with references to Mueller.

Trump is right here, and this Acosta guy is in the wrong? For the life of me I don't see why...

Never the less a man has been accused with falsehoods by the WH Press Secretary, he's been accused with assaulting a woman. The American people don't need games being played. If you cannot rely on receiving transparency and truth from this president and his staff in this situation how can you trust you will receive it in any?

Acosta may have been a bit of an ass, I'm struggling to tell the truth to see it in that video but it isn't just his job being played games with, it is also his reputation.

The guy is calling a bunch of migrants, many of whom are women and children, who are hundreds of miles from The United States an invasion force. You cannot let a man like this get away with this, more people need to stand up. Even the White House are using doctored footage to make it look worse than it was, even they think deception is required here. Demand this from the press. What does this have to do with Obama? Give me a break.

What I am saying is that just because we hate Trump, we are putting all the blame on him, while in fact it was Acosta who was the biggest prick in that room. If he did the same to some popular president like Obama was, we would have been calling him an arse, which he definitely was yesterday.

His questions were shit and he was disrespectful to everybody in that room.

BS. It wasn't Obama was it? It would not happen with Obama or any other normal politician.Trump is clearly not sane, quite possibly a psychopath , definitely a liar who is clearly unfit for the office he holds.Jim Acosta was just doing his job, I'm surprised his colleagues have not taken any action to support him.

That sounds an awful lot like some boring version of 'Ordnung muss sein', which is not the point at all here.

I don't even know what you're trying to say. Almost everyone thinks that they know the truth and are doing good things. If that was enough to do whatever you want then we get chaos, or in the context of these press meetings: everyone shouting over each other and no questions getting answered. It's not even like Acosta was doing something righteous, he was putting himself in the spotlight with a pointless and stupid question, trying to fish for pointless controversy.

Acosta got to ask a question (about the caravan), Trump answered the question and the follow-ups. Then it was someone else's turn to ask a question. Indicated by Trump saying "Peter, go ahead", but Acosta just tried to bulldoze through that, with a completely unrelated topic even. Do you think he was fearing his colleagues would have forgotten to ask the most stupid question about Müller? He just wanted to be the one who got to ask it on camera.

Why does it have to be one side being right and the other being wrong? It's naive thinking like that which the circus in America is thriving on.

Never the less a man has been accused with falsehoods by the WH Press Secretary, he's been accused with assaulting a woman. The American people don't need games being played. I think it's well established that Trump and his underlings are despicable people at this point.
Regarding the second paragraph: I think this is a game both are playing. What Acosta did was little more than a stunt fishing for a reaction like this. I have no doubt that they absolutely love this chance to paint themselves are the upright journalists who are leading some kind of resistance movement.

No one is disagreeing with that here.

Acosta wasn't doing his job. For whatever reason he thought that this was a debate when he is debating with Trump, when in fact, he just had to make his question(s) which he did, and then move on. There were many other journos there who were waiting in line to get their own questions.

Stop embarrassing yourself please.Now.

I kind of agree with you here but trump also instead of answering his question and moving on wanted to engage him or snipe at him.

Trump said that they differ on opinion, and he thinks that this is an invasion. Then Acosta schooled him that this wasn't an invasion. Trump disagreed. Then Trump gave the spotlight to some other journo, with Acosta dissing him about is Trump worried about Russia investigation, to which Trump couldn't resist and said that 'no he is not worried' (this was like the third answer to Acosta questions). Then Acosta continued to make questions, to which Trump didn't want to reply and it continued like that for like half a minute or so before Trump offended him.

Again, this wasn't a debate on primaries between Trump and Acosta, neither an one on one interview. The entire point of this thing is journos make questions, president answers. He doesn't have to engage on lengthy debates about the difference on opinion between himself and the journos, neither answer an unlimited number of answers to every journo. Make question, move on cause other journos are waiting in line with their hands raised cause of their questions.

So we start turning a blind eye to it? Nah. We maintain standards and we insist on them in public life.

It wasn't really a difference of opinion though, was it? It was calling out lies told by the leader of the free world in order to win an election. How is this now the new standard?

When even Ben Shapiro picks it up I wouldn't say people turn a blind eye to it.

Wouldn't that be "breaking the rules" as you said.
