So it's gone from: "I'm being investigated because the Dems lost the election!" to "I'm being investigated because the Dems will lose the election!"

How thoroughly convincing.

There have been a raise of the minimum wage in 18 states this year and the Republicans are actively trying to stop that from happening. This means the wage growth is heavily impacted by opposition that are fighting for a living wage for ordinary workers rather than the Republicans that try to keep it very low. The current inflation rate from july 2018 is at 2.9 (https://da.tradingeconomics.com/united-states/inflation-cpi ) and that makes the wage gain very poor as it will barely be noticeable and then take the impact of rising gas prices that would put a big dent into the low wage workers income during this administration.

John Bolton to threaten sanctions in virulent attack on ICC
Trump’s national security adviser will say ‘illegitimate’ court is ‘already dead to us’

John Bolton
, the hawkish US national security adviser, will threaten the international criminal court (ICC) with sanctions when he makes an excoriating attack on the institution in a speech in Washington.

According to drafts of his speech, Bolton will push for sanctions over an ICC investigation into alleged American war crimes in Afghanistan. He is also expected to announce on Monday the closure of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) office in Washington because of its calls for an ICC inquiry into Israel.

True colours shining through here.

I sincerely hope the ICC comes back with the standard law enforcement response of "you have nothing to worry about if you have nothing to hide".

I'm so happy to meet you, I grew up with your songs.:D

Trump tweet:
'The GDP Rate (4.2%) is higher than the Unemployment Rate (3.9%) for the first time in over 100 years!'

Twitter responds:
'This has happened over 60 times in the last 100 years.'

You can't argue that the US economic performance has been outstanding during his term. Even the long stagnant wage levels are on the rise.

I have a very rich and active Democratic member who last month lectured me on what I'm not seeing. he reckons his investments have doubled since Trump came to office - he also sees his friends and family saving for first time in a while.

He reckons DT will sleep walk into a second term. He also reckons the Mueller reports will only amount to continued bluster from the Anti-Trump brigade.

Doubt if the growth is sustainable esp into a possible second term. Trump basically has been chucking money into the fire to keep it going. Its hollowing out the economy.

The problem with these stats is they are just the mean across an entire sector. This inevitably is going to be very misleading.
From what I see on a deeper level all the wage gains come from the absolute bottom and the absolute top.

For instance, California passed a bill to increase minimum wage from 10/hr in Jan.2017 to 15/hr in Jan. 2023. That's a 5% increase at the bottom in California. Other states From Washington to Massachusetts to South Carolina have also passed bills to increase minimum wage recently. At least 18 states (including the biggest and richest) in total increased their minimum wage last two years. A big chunk of this wage increase is coming from State bills to increase minimum wage that have nothing to do with the big tangerine's tax cuts.

Then at the other end we keep seeing CEO, C-level and top executive pay increasing much greater than average worker pay - look at the sharp increase in slope at the end:

And we know many companies used their tax cuts to repurchase stock. Repurchasing stock increases shareholder value. So the investment classes benefited the most from the stock buybacks - it doesn't benefit workers at the companies. People who can afford to invest relevant amounts (usually the richest 30%) benefit. In much more dispersed manner workers benefit from their pension funds benefiting that invested in companies that repurchased stock.

So this "increase in wages" is mostly mythical from the perspective of anything done by Trump admin. Most of the benefits by Trump Admin have been heavily concentrated at the top and most of the benefits from workers were the result of State legislatures passing minimum wage increases. For most working class and middle class there is not really any practical difference. For the leisure class though this great times

New polls show slump in Trump's approval rating
Guardian said:
Donald Trump’s approval rating has been remarkably consistent over the first 20 months of his presidency, moving between about 37% and 42%, according to polling averages maintained by FiveThirtyEight. That’s bad – likely about 10 points short of what he needs to be re-elected.

But new polls indicate Trump may currently be settling into an approval trough. A CNN/SSRS measured Trump’s approval rating at 36%, down from 42% in August in the same poll. A Quinnipiac poll measured Trump’s approval at 38%, down from 41% a month prior.

“I count... Eight... Count ‘em, eight, live interview polls finished in the last 2 weeks…” tweeted polling analyst Harry Enten of CNN. “Each one has Trump’s approval dropping from the last poll.”

I can't wait for his ass to be thrown in jail. He fecked everything that was feckable, from the americans' daily life, to pornstars without forgetting the US image outside of it.

People like that don't deserve to have what they do. life is so fecking unjust it's crazy.

I actually stopped asking myself what's happening. i guess i'm in the stage of acceptance now haha.

He will get worse after November when the anticipated Blue Wave kicks in. He goes ballistic every time there is a major leak or a new book.
Wait till there is an actual enemy within the ranks (ie House or Senate or both) he can focus on. No need for 'Infrastructure Week' as distractions/redirections.
It will be the full-on West Wing Reality TV being played out on a daily basis.

Expect the price of peanuts to soar if the Dems win both the Senate and the House.

Just an anedocte: Trump made some joke about the Brazilian nt, when talking to a Brazilian jounalist. He said - "i know you guys had some little troubles recently".

I dont know if he was talking about the defeat against Belgium in the world cup, but the Brazilian coach was highly triggered in the press conference:lol:

Trump posting warnings about the hurricane that's on it's way to the Carolinas/Virginia, said absolutely diddly squat about the Hurricane that looked pretty bad before it hit land that struck the Alabama/Mississippi border and was heading originally towards us in New Orleans, gotta get those electoral votes somehow i guess.

Can't believe its been 17 years since the attack.
How time flies. Was in primary school and remember that day so vividly. It was around midday, our time and our teachers were all around the TV screen, no one was taking classes.

I was in year 9. I remember waking up to see the smoke and chaos on TV, with my mum just standing there staring at it in sheer disbelief. It had happened overnight for us down in Melbourne.

CNN are pathetic. They are having a discussion about Trump's poll numbers and not even covering the memorials taking place.
