The GOP are absolutely cnuts but surely even for them it would be difficult to confirm a judge who is under investigation and likely guilty of a fairly serious federal crime.

I am pretty sure that if Trump pardoned his supreme court nominee who just got convicted on criminal charges, he would actually be impeached.
