The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

Michael Sheuer is the former head of the CIA's bin Laden unit who famously blamed Bill Clinton for the failure to kill Usama before 9/11. IMO he got some stuff right and some stuff wrong around that time; he's always leaned to the paleoconservative side of things, arguing that US interventions in the Middle East only caused trouble and were conducted largely at the behest of Israel and the Saudis. He was depicted quite negatively in the recent "Looming Tower" series, in contrast to the FBI's John O'Neill (played by Jeff Daniels). Here's what Scheuer had to say about O'Neill after 9/11:

Anyway, he's now gone completely nuts. Some highlights from his blog, amidst a lot of nonsense:

"As this week’s end, it seems likely that it is quite near time for killing those involved in the multiple and clearly delineated attempts to stage a coup d’état against the legitimately elected Trump government and thereby kill our republic...

...The week saw FBI agent Strzok brazenly lie to the Congress, show his own detestation for everyday Americans – it’s their smell, he says — and display facial and other physical quirks that appeared very reminiscent of a demented beaver, a drug addict, or a loyal Democrat...

...this week saw a significant and quickening advance toward the moment when those millions of well-armed citizens who voted for Trump, and who have been abused or wounded by Democrats, their Antifa-thugs, and their thug-civil servants for exercising their franchise to elect Trump, cannot be, in good conscience, patient for much longer.

Fortunately, they have in hand a long and very precise list of the names and photographs of those who hate and threaten them, their families, their way-of-life, their liberty, their livelihoods and their republic. No self-respecting and determined-to-remain-independent citizenry can let themselves forever be held hostage by thug-civil-servants like Strzok, Comey, McCabe, Page, and Rosenstein; worshipers of tyranny, like the Democratic members of Congress, the Clintons, the FBI, and the Obamas; apparent traitors like Brennan, Hayden, and Clapper; all of the mainstream media; and the tens of thousands of government-admitted-and-protected, violent, criminal, and illegal immigrants.

American patriots have so far, praise God, been remarkably disciplined in not responding to tyranny and violence with violence. For now they must remain so, armed but steady. But the time for such patience is fast slipping away; indeed, that patience is quickly becoming an obviously rank and self-destructive foolishness. If Trump does not act soon to erase the above noted tyranny and tyrants, the armed citizenry must step in and eliminate them.

It is, of course, far better if Trump does so, and I pray and believe he will. That said, the sheer, nay, utter joy and satisfaction to be derived from beholding great piles of dead U.S.-citizen tyrants is not one that will be missed if Trump does not soon do the necessary to save the republic. But if he fails, the citizenry must act to ensure that Hillary’s predictive words are proven correct. “If Trump wins,” she apparently said, “we will all hang.”"

Well this guys a real treat!

The funny thing about the Google fine is that it was other American companies that filed the complaint. The man is truly is a cnut.

Don't beat yourself like that.

like @Eboue, I too feel his legacy will be one of missed opportunity

I'm afraid this will be the case, since Trump seems to have made it his life's work to undo every good thing that Obama did. Obama was far from perfect, but he was a hell of a lot closer than Trump. And while stuff like ACA isn't something that directly affects me as a Norwegian (beyond empathy for my fellow man), stuff like Trump's environmental "strategy" (i.e. slash and burn) will impact the entire world.

I feel like history will be incredibly harsh on Donald Trump, and Obama will look all the better for it.

What the feck! This has to be against the law, right, even in the US?

Usually one isn't allowed to use free speech to incite violence, but I live in Communist Canada so what do I know.

Super American to kill other Americans, though.

Trump has invited Putin to Washington.

Intel chief knew nothing about it. Time for another check up with the doctor.

Damn I miss the Obama's. Although not perfect and although like @Eboue, I too feel his legacy will be one of missed opportunity, Barack was a trillion times the man Trump is and Michelle is always on point, eloquent and inspirational. Hopefully the pair can come out in force and do what they do best which is talk to people on a personal level, motivate and give hope and inspiration to people whilst always managing to maintain dignity and grace amidst the most horrific and disgusting personal attacks.

I'm 100% with you. But the Democrats will lose again if they don't get someone out there that can mobilise the borderline fcukwit semi-racist swing voters that voted Trump.

The Obama's are preaching to the converted. Every little helps, but the Democrats need a Cowboy, a Nascar driver, a Farmer, a Gun-shooting moonshine-swilling tobacco-chewing fully fledged and endorsed man of the people to be the face of change. They're leaving so many votes on the table because they still seem to believe you can speak in intelligible terms and have an impact.

America is a beautiful country, rich in so many ways. But there are clearly millions of dumb fcuks that will vote for whoever speaks to them. The Democrats are not doing that. At all.

He's back

Keep in mind that there are a lot of voters who voted Obama and Trump. The Democrats don't need to touch Trump's base if they can swing those voters back.

This is the attitude that will see a second term for Trump.

He won't fire him now. The heat would be too much but he's going to make his position untenable.
Coats should preempt him and resign now.

so 72 hours after and the Republicans have done little. a few huffs and puffs on Tuesday was the height of it. pathetic

God dammit you’ve convinced me. When I turn 35 I’m running.

You’ve definitely seen the photo.

Ginger beard, but brown hair! (Same as my dad)

We’ve had 7 ginger presidents, fwiw

Ginger people.... always have the ginger facts ready to go. hahahahaha
(I'm also afflicted/blessed with the brown mop and ginger jaw-line)

Gawd 'elp us all...
President Donald Trump seemed to have a moment of realization when he said the word “apprenticeships” today during a signing ceremony for skills training.

“Today 23 companies and associations are pledging to expand apprenticeships. That’s an interesting word for me to be saying, right? ‘The Apprentice,'” Trump said, stopping his prepared remarks to marvel at the connection.

“I never actually put that together until just now,” the United States president confessed.

“That was a good experience, I will tell you that,” he told the students. “Isn’t that strange? Ivanka, I never associated, but here we are. Can’t get away from that word. That’s a great word."

That doesn't make any sense. Losing the Obama voters is what won Trump the election in the first place. It's not like the demographics have gotten any more favourable for the republicans. At best they've stayed the same, which means regaining the lost voters is enough the difference between losing or winning a second election.

you can speak to them without being what you described. campaign to the hundred million people so disaffected that they didnt vote at all and you will pick up a bunch of these people. ill always remember one particular line in this article because people will vote in their own self interest. hillary clinton just offered absolutely nothing to them

Don't joke about it. If you've ever considered it then honestly just do it. Those of us who are civically minded will never bring about change unless we actively engage within the political process.

20 years ago I had the chance to run for a council seat with the LibDems, I was told I'd get their nomination if I agreed, but I managed to talk myself out of it so I never ran. I regret it now, my life has changed since then and I can't take that path now.

If you ever get the chance then just do it otherwise you'll regret.
