So Kennedy and his son arranged for a billion dollars in loans and kennedys retirement in order to move the court away from the positions held by Kennedy and more towards the positions held trump and other Republicans?

I dont see what Kennedy gets out of this
Its not a machiavellian plot by justice Kennedy to snare trump. Im saying its highly plausible that something is a foot.

There is no Eastern Bloc now. There is no Soviet Union now.

I really don't get why people assume Russia would suddenly change post cold war or the Russia not changing means Cold War still continues.

Crimea shows Russia still have expansionist ambitions, even if they're more limited than before. They still have mostly fraught relations with a lot of European countries.

No cold war needed. An authoritarian, expansionist Russia is more than enough to keep it going.

As I said Cold War was much more than US vs Russia. It has impact cutting across many Eastern Block countries from Afghanistan, Laos, Vietnam, many countries in Africa, bits of China, Korean War etc, which is not the case now.

Though the fight for cutting edge arms still happens, it's a far cry from the arms race that categorized the cold war. If any what we have is a pale shadow of the leftover of the cold war.

Calling this a continuation or a new cold war is just click bait or maybe an excuse for NATO to continue to do their dick swinging.

The eastern block states and some of the other asian countries you cite are ancillary to the central point of the treaty, which was fundamentally a collective security agreement between Europe and the US to blunt Soviet advances. Although they don't use tanks that much any more these days (except of course in Ukraine) its hard to make the case that the situation in Ukraine, Crimea and election attacks in that the Russians aren't attempting to control elections in Austria, Bulgaria, Netherlands, Germany, Montenegro, Moldova, and elsewhere. The Soviet Union has simply morphed from a big lumbering collectivist state to a corrupt kleptocratic, neo-imperialist one.

He really resents couples, doesn't he? Says a lot about him, and his relationships...

Vietnam and Afghanistan are ancillary? I'd say they are some of the most prominent proxy wars between US-USSR defining the cold war era. The theater of war has shrunk. The participants in the war has morphed as you say. The only remnant of the Cold War era is NATO, which should have been made redundant now.

The possibility of cold war style hostilities between US vs Russia is minimal and even calling this a cold war is a farce.

I'm sure the likes of Putin would love to see NATO go away, but that's not going to happen as long as Russia is authoritarian and expansionist. If Russia opts to one day go democratic then that would remove the need for NATO to continue.

Also their efforts to expand in the artic cannot be over looked. Definitely morphed into a different but way of doing things with the same general result in mind

Keeping the militia wing of his base happy :wenger:

Its blatantly obvious what Trump is doing here. Plan is to keep on dishing out pardons in the hope people become accustomed to them and to lay out the groundwork for pardons related to the Russia investigation.
