That doesn't indicate gerrymandering.
It wasn't, though the Tories insisted it was. But basically, UK constituencies are drawn independently so far less scope for gerrymandering here.

Main effect of FPTP here is to depress choice.

Aside from the UK?

Edit - Some more detail:

Conservatives with 42.4% of the vote earned 315 seats.

Labour with 40% won 262 seats.

Conservatives won 48.4% of available seats with 42% of the vote while Labour’s 40% was only worth 40%.

That's one of the less extreme examples too. Both parties have got big majorities with less.

I have an extremely exciting life that includes staring at wiki articles about old elections. That's where I found this:

Yeah, the Churchill win in 1951 was proper US election 2016 stuff. Ridiculous.

Fair point. I think the USA electoral system is even more extreme though. You don't have gerrymandering here.

The evident extinction of the Redcafe population of Trump supporters is a sad but predictable story.

They were only ever rarely sighted and when they were we kept asking them to back up their claims. They then linked Breitbart and Daily Caller. Then they called us a liberal circle-jerk and stropped off when we said they were being silly.

There are rumours they still exist in other parts of the forum but no data exists on this.

A couple of them surfaced rather bizarrely in a thread about the 2026 World cup Bids. Of course it was in defence of their Cheeto King after he opened up his asshole-like mouth about the US bid and people started shit talking Donald and the US, the fun starts here:

So, a point was raised about how other countries aren't criticised for taking in migrants...

About other countries taking in migrants, I'd just like to point out:
https://www.foreignaffairs.com/articles/india/2015-09-22/when-refugees-were-welcome
(10 million)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syrians_in_Lebanon
(>1 million in a population of 6 million)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syrians_in_Turkey
(2 million)

These are (to varying degrees) much poorer countries than anywhere in Europe.

Obviously no country is actually good at this but it's complete ignorance to pretend that Europe, and particularly the US (with its geographic isolation) has been extraordinarily kind to fleeing refugees. The US didn't even let in Jews in WW2, and generally the US has been open (early on for Europeans, post-war for Mexican cheap labour, and then for 3rd-world professionals) to fulfill a particular need.

The amount of bullshit is actually quite impressive. What an answer.

He’s literally spewing verbal diarrhoea on CNN right now.

Either Rudy is going to release a statement that he isn't working for Trump anymore later today, or he is going to release one saying he didn't officially start until yesterday, which means he wasn't officially on board when he made those comments to Hannity.

I wish I coupd ask him a question about some made up event so he can ramble about how much he knows about it.
