My issue with Facebook wasn't a moral one personally, it's just populated with attention seeking self obsessed assholes posting a load of irritating guff I had no interest in reading about.
But granted, them owning WhatsApp makes in an imperfect alternative if you're avoiding Facebook for the moral argument.
Although if all you use is WhatsApp you're not providing them with any ad revenue or private data, right?
It seems to me that since Facebook purchased Whatsapp there's been a fair amount of concern with exactly what's being shared and what isn't. I ditched it shortly after the purchase not for any moral argument but simply because I do not trust Zuckerberg nor indeed anyone or any firm that seeks to use any data on me without clear consent and definition of purpose.

hehe....well I just can't imagine how a cheated on spouse who finds out in the media that her husband banged pornstars and playboy bunnies without a condom around the time the wife was giving birth to their son, and then presumably resumed having sex with Trump shortly thereafter.

You can have a dummy Facebook account if all you want to do is keep in contact with a few people. I feel its okay using these services if you know how to withhold the info you don't want them obtaining. Its not like they are installing keyloggers and packet sniffers on your hardware/devices.

The opioid crisis needs to be treated like what it is; a medical crisis, rather than a criminal issue.

Wait, I've got a brilliant plan. The administration has announced $60 billion tariffs on China due to their unfair trade practices. China is obviously going to retaliate so why don't the US make a deal to send all their surplus opioid "medicine" to China with 0% tarrifs? (china will need to sign a deal where they're required to accept all the opioids with no questions).
