The difference in quality of lawyers was pretty stark. Schwartz seems like a clumsier, more incompetent version of Cohen whereas Avenatti looks like a seasoned pro who knows how to leverage the spectacle of TV to advance his narrative. Completely toyed with him.

The problem, as with most things, is actual solutions are never going to be found when the GOP just shout "soft on crime" any time someone tries to talk about treatment verses punishment.

Interestingly I saw some statistics from 2012 that showed that black youths between 18-25 now do crack at a much lower rate than whites. Yet the sentencing disparity continues..
