Sadio Mane | LFC Player

He's shown in the last couple of months that he isn't good enough. Has been in and out of the side. Liverpool was his first good performance in a while.

He clearly isn't happy since the fallout of the January window - Koeman has had him on the bench and we aren't sure what has gone on behind the scenes. Think it is a bold statement to say he isn't good enough based on that period to be honest.

Think there are better players around for the fee tbh

He has definitely dropped in form but I think a lot of that is down to his attitude. It's quite clear he's a bit of a sulker. Though this dip in form has one positive of really dragging that audacious (was it like 35m?) purported transfer fee down to something far more reasonable if we do end up going for him. At this point, I hope we don't.

He's not that good and has a poor attitude, there are better options out there for us this summer.

Agreed.

Also better, cheaper and more attainable players that won't be missing January with the ACON.

He has his days but so does Bolasie and there is a reason why those 2 aren't any higher than they are - consistency.

I'm not Mane's biggest fan, but who's cheaper and better than him?

Well considering we were supposedly quoted north of £40m last year, take your pick.

Exactly, and on top of that his best position is a free role off the striker, not playing from the RW which is what we need.

He was still sulking over the fact he hadn't started the game.
His attitude is probably reason enough not to sign him. He always looks like he's "in a mood". We need players with a real urgency and drive about them.

Think he'd be a good squad player for us. Well, I guess he'd probably walk into our side now, but I feel our standard of squad players should be around Mane's level. Someone who, isn't quite consistent enough to be a regular starter, but someone who can come in and do a job for us, when needed - similar to what Ji Sung Park did for us.

Agreed, if you are going to put up with a temperamental player he needs to be exceptional, Mane isn't and we need to add players with the team first mentality.

I'd take Fekir over him even though he has been injured the whole season.

This was Fekir's year to shine. Before the Injury he made 4 Appearances, scored 4 goals and got an assist.

I remember watching Lyon play to see what all the Lacazette hype was about last season and it didn't take me long to see that it was Fekir who was pulling all the strings, making things happen for Lyon.

No Fekir this season, no one has heard much of Lacazette.

If he can do that to Lacazette imagine what he could do for Martial!

I'd prefer Fekir as well, but I can't imagine him being cheaper than Mane unless we gamble on him this summer.

Yeah that's what I meant, Gambling on him this summer. I am sure it will pay off, just like we should of gambled on Gundogan when he was injured and ready to leave for a small fee.

Not sure on how much he'd go for though, he s already expressed his interest in us.

Although I think Mane is a good Player he is not worth 30+. And he showed very bad behavior when he forced his move from Red Bull Salzburg to Southampton.

Yeah ok - he has an attitude problem - but to say he isn't good enough ? On his day - he is more than good enough. And let's look at it this way - how many players have an attitude problem once they come to a big club ? I am not saying we should sign him - but he would absolutely improve us.

He'd be a good squad option, but we have plenty of those already. We need a bonafide superstar in his position.

They type of player we might be happy to sign for 10-15m to play a squad role, not sign for 30m+ to be a regular starter. Also seems to play far better centrally than on the wing, and he's nowhere near good enough to be a #10 for a team looking to get back amongst the european elite.

He's a very good player to have in the squad, but we have too many of those. I just think we should be aiming higher, this has always been my stand with players like Mane, Mahrez etc.

My sentiments exactly. Southampton are probably going to want close to £40 million for him, and IMO he just isn't good enough to justify that kind of price tag.

We've got enough good but not top class players. This summer is when we need to go all out for some world class players.

I think he has the potential to become a superstar

He isn't exactly setting the PL alight this year though is he? I'd be happy to have him as a squad player but I just don't see him ever becoming a world beater.

His attitude is his biggest problem. The talent is there, as is the pace and the physique.

I am surprised this guy has dropped off the radar. Smashed Liverpool the other day and clearly doesn't want to be at Southampton anymore.

He will certainly move in the summer but question is where? I rate him and he is very achievable

I'll say it again. Decent player who would do a job at United.

Good player but we can do better and he'll have the PL premium + United tax + Media United VAT. He'll probably cost 80m for us and 120m in the papers.

He's a very good player who hasn't delivered consistently this season for whatever reason.

Hot and cold player. Been shit for most of the season. People only seem to notice his few good games for some reason. Not United quality.

Inconsistent this season but to be fair that has been Southampton's season.

I said it last year and I'll say it again, he's exactly the sort of player that will come alive at a big club, we should pull out all the stops to get him in the summer.

His head was turned by a move, and his form suffered. But I've seen enough evidence of his ability over the past two seasons to know that he is a threat to any side. His pace and movement are fantastic, and he's very versatile across the front line.

I think he would be a good addition to our squad. We need a right winger.

Oh, posted in the wrong thread. But what about Tadic ? He's been very consistent since he first moved to Southampton.

The Serb is talented but too inconsistent overall and has attitude problems at times. I think he's a Europa League level player.
