Philippe Coutinho

I have to believe this will be the final straw that will see socis finally revolt

But what a shame about the manner of his exit. Refuse to play but don't lie about it. Hopefully this was the board pushing a player who has always come off as a respectful kid rather than him or his family/agent giving bad advice

Of course, this doesn't seem to be the first time big talents have aggressively pushed for exits from Anfield - even Gerrard too right? Any Reds with some background on difficult exits from Liverpool?

If Barcelona pay 160m for Coutinho then Monaco should ask for 160m for Lemar.:)

Haven't been following this story at all. Should I be hoping Coutinho is sold or not? I would've thought that selling Coutinho would piss off a lot of Liverpool fans but that's an awful lot of money.....

Ballbag won't sleep tonight.
The Brazil thing has made Liverpool look stupid.

People on here were telling us his threat of not playing was real, that he'd sit out the season, play for Brazil and be all ready for the world cup anyway because their coach loved him to bits.

Guess they forgot that Phil goes to pot a bit when not match fit.

He's hardly going to announce they selling one of their best players on twitter.
Would make sense to say that when you are still negotiating for lemar.

I am hopeful of seeing both here next week though. Would be awesome.

He has been ruled out for the Ecuador game because of injury. If Tite cared about lack of game time, he just wouldn't call him.

Maybe Coutinho got a little concerned about the legal ramifications of playing. No rule that says Liverpool couldn´t sue him for breach of contract and damages, after they sell him for €160M or try get him banned by FIFA for international competition.

Apparently they made an agreement 2 weeks ago, but are waiting until deadline day to announce it to stop people trying to rinse them for the money they'll get from the deal.

Because announcing a £175m spending spree seems under the radar.

Don't think he'd openly deny it either. Would make him look pretty stupid if we did end up selling.

All of the LFC journos have been briefed once more tonight that Coutinho is going nowhere. Barring some super secret agreement (which could be possible) it looks like he may well stay.

One thing is for sure - tomorrow will be the most interesting deadline day in years.

Agreed, it could actually be pretty good for a change

If Pool manages to keep a hold of Coutinho AND spend the money that's rumored then that's another sign to show that the dominance of Barça and Real in the transfer market is well and truly over.

I think Liverpool did well held it to the last day so that's why I almost certain they won't sell him in last hours, no?
After getting Chamberlain too , now they so much mean business.

So Liverpool getting Chamberlain, Lemar and keeping Coutinho too? It doesn't make sense right?

That makes sense, must have been Barca's idea

wonder if RAWK will still include him in the former players threads or will they treat him like Sterling

Would make sense. Barca have another day to complete the transfer anyway.

If true, barcas lowball bid for lemar is actually quite clever.
