Philippe Coutinho

Doubt he'll fail. He's a good player and playing with those two will definitely help with his consistency.

I can't fecking stand Barcelona.

Despite what many in this thread have said if a deal is done it won't because what some geezer in Spain has said, or Messi phoning him up or even the reliable source of some Indian news channel!

Just have to wait and see if anything else happens, all we know for sure is we have turned 2 bids down.

I guess if the player starts to kick up a fuss something might change, but for now at least it's a wait and see situation.

These articles do nothing to prove your point. One is from well before the player was sold and the other includes no quotes from anybody at the club.

The dynamic of the Coutinho situation is clearly completely different to either of those transfers.

It completely proves my point. You stated I was lying or had memory problems, when clearly there are two instances where Liverpool had briefed the press that neither player was for sale, before going on to sell them shortly after (3 days later in Torres' case!)

The Sterling one comes directly after the BBC interview that you mentioned as the turning point in the club's mindset. Still they kept up a pretence of keeping him.

The situations are identical. It's a case of when Coutinho will leave, not if.

Breaking News: Liverpool owners WON'T consider offers this summer.

So he's probably leaving next summer then.

The Premier League clubs are clamping down now. Barca and Real don't get their own way anymore.

Like a new signing for Pool this.

It depends - no one knows for sure what the player himself wants to do. If he genuinely wants to leave and is sulking behind closed doors then a year is a long time to have such a negative attitude in the squad. Quality doesn't really matter if the player doesn't want to play for you because he won't show it.
An interesting thing will be their progress in the Champions League. If they get knocked out by Hoffenheim, and I pray to the heavens that they will, I'm assuming that will cup-tie him and he will be even more pi$$ed off!

He won't move this window after Pool released that statement.

BUT it will satisfy the deluded Liverpool fans so much that now the Pool owners FSG have an excuse for not bringing in any new players.

I think people on here exaggerate a lot about RAWK for sure.

They close threads if there is nothing to discuss, or crap rumours etc
It was opened again following Melissa Reddy's comment this afternoon saying club still say he is not for sale.
No, the Coutinho one is being locked and unlocked all the time, I think they've done it every day for the past week.

You just hope Dortmund don't fold and sell Dembele before Liverpool accept the eventuality of Coutinho getting his dream move.

Was obvious. Him not training because of a sore back was just an excuse. With the statement from Liverpool he wants to try and resurrect the deal.

I mean for the fans. Liverpool fans were adamant that he is not pushing for transfer, now it's going to be interesting.

*popcorn gif*

oh please.. I so need a good laugh. Liveropol take the £100m and go out and fin the next emile heskey!

Be interesting to see how their fans receive him after this, hoping it turns nasty.

Him staying will only resume business as usual, but leaving will trigger a meltdown of epic proportions and that's something I would very much enjoy seeing :D
