Why would the bears go for 2????
Because statistics. It is the right thing to do.
Is it though? Get it and you are golden, but miss it and you now need to score a td and get the 2pt conversion just to tie. The league success rate on 2 pt conversions this season is 31%, so the chances of scoring 2 on one of those is still not as good as kicking both extra points.
It gives you a chance to win the game with the two TDs. I think there was a video on the idea behind it. Gonna see if I find it quickly.
Edit: Not sure this is what I was thinking of, audio is crap, but the basics seem to be properly explained.
