Michael Oliver

I'm convinced he's holding a grudge for us destroying his wee club in the 90's.
Of course he does, but little rules like not being allowed to ref your rivals don't apply to United games.

Leeds fan Atkinson reffed our games for years. Straight up Liverpool fan Gillet has already fecked us over more than once on field and on VAR. The yellow cards etc for and against in our matches reffed by Oliver must read like we're 90s Wimbledon.

He has a tendency to book us for something others do not get booked for, Dalot and Di Maria do ring a bell.

Why did he book Amad?

There was an incident MacAllister just completed barged Ugarte and he didn’t even give a foul. Would have been a yellow.

He was awful today. The garnacho offside when Yoro switched it was never off either.

The cnuts an absolute disgrace! There’s more than enough evidence at this point for the club to come out and highlight the fact this guy simply cannot remain impartial when it comes to reffing games involving Utd. It’s beyond a joke!
It's worse than that....he also had speed lines shaved into his hair a few years back like an 8 year old being allowed to get what they want at the barber for the first time.

Cringey and a horrific ref to boot.

Full on badge kissing Sunderland player being reffed by this man:

He'd have booked him for standing on grass.

Laughable how punchable his face is.

As someone also mentioned in the Ref/VAR, I didn’t think I could despise a referee as much as I used to despise Cuneyt Cakir after the Nani incident.

Do also think people also miss how absolutely inept Chris Kavanagh is.

Chris Kavanagh, who supports Droylsden, or so he says.

Robert Jones is a Liverpool fan who is not allowed to ref Liverpool or Everton games, but is allowed to ref United games for some reason.

Amad got booked for that? Jesus wept, he’s shameless

He always dishes out dodgy yellow cards so he can set-up the red late in the game. I'd love to know how many times he gives yellows/reds to United players vs other teams he refs.

He's given us some ridiculous red cards over the years. Like last season when he booked Dalot twice for the same incident. Or that time he sent Herrera off for his only two fouls in a game.

It was especially weird today, they had 2 bookings to our 4. 2 of ours shouldn’t have even been given (Amad and Maguire) while one of theirs should’ve been red. Not to mention all the cumulative fouls they seemed to get away with.

I was watching today with a mate who's a Liverpool fan, said before the game watch Oliver he'll give United a yellow card for anything he can think of to try to set-up the red. And he'll stop play anytime United touch a Liverpool player while letting Liverpool away with most things. He begrudgingly admitted I was right for the most part.

It's the same every match he refs us in. Would be great if the club compiled the stats to see if he is bias (he is) and quietly take it to PGMOL. Refs can work until their mid 50's so we're probably in for another 15 years of his shit.

Gave a freekick and a yellow card that was wrong and he is a disgrace. Refs must have come a long way if a few errors during a game is a disgrace. It used to be a lot worse in the 90's

He sent Dalot off for moaning about a throw in last season. Let’s be honest, he’s done United over many, many times now.

This Liverpool games smells a draw! Everything is saying we should get blown the hell out... yet, for some reason I see us putting the ball in the net at least twice and hanging on for a draw. We are due goals..... lord knows we havent scored a goal in what 2-3 games?
Do the lotto. But good prediction and well reasoned.

Its yellow. The game is so soft nowadays and so are the fans if thats a straight red.

Its a deliberate shoulder straight to the face. If thats not red what the heck is? Even if you long for the days of Vinnie Jones breaking everyones legs, the rules are the rules and by the rules he should have been sent off.

feck this rat. That yellow for the Maguire tackle was a disgrace.
What really irritates me is the inconsistency. We had numerous fouls against us in the recent 3-5 games that were clear fouls and not even given. And then you blow for such foul in dangerous area of a derby when Maguire got clear ball. He has it in him against United.

There is a very large body of evidence to suggest Michael Oliver is not capable of refereeing Manchester United matches fairly going back about 10 years.

At this point, I'm not quite sure why more isn't made of it from the club. It's not like the weirdo we had against Wolves who was obviously just a shit ref, in this cases there's enough evidence to suggest that he is biased and shouldn't get our games. And yet we still get him turn up and try and take out his anger that we ruined his childhood.

Someone at least must have a video of a coked up Oliver calling Fergie a cnut.

He might have made some terrible decision in the past but his performance yesterday was fine. The only really bad mistake was not sending off Nunez (the wanker) but that foul looked much worse in replay than it did in real time. The linesman and, especially, VAR guy had a poor game but Oliver generally referee’d the game well. All the crying about Maguire’s booking being evidence of bias is absurd when he could easily have booked Ugarte for his very first foul (putting him on a tightrope) or sent off De Ligt for that handball (second booking) The victim mentality of some United fans about referees is getting seriously embarrassing now.

It really wasn't. He was as bad as he usually is. The yellow for Amad with no reciprocity for Salah, the foul on Maguire (which is absolutely bonkers in itself, notwithstanding the yellow), the Nuñez yellow, were very poor decisions going just one way.

Why people are saying De Ligt could've gotten a second yellow for the handball as a sort of mitigating factor is really strange. There is no rule by which that would have been a second yellow. It wouldn't have surprised me if he'd given it, because it's, well, Michael Oliver, but it would've been 100% wrong.

They were bullying Amad, giving him a shove when ball had gone, making sure to catch him in tackles, like they did to Mainoo in the first couple of minutes. Oliver did nothing. Then he'd book our players for first time fouls.

If hes not bias hes incompetent but the overall quality of referees has dropped significantly and i think VAR makes it worse as there are chances to correct the decisions but poor ones are still being upheld.

He blocked a goal bound shot with his hand waving above shoulder height. The rules have changed this season to make it an automatic yellow card if an accidental handball denied a goal scoring opportunity. I don’t think anyone would disagree that a header flying towards our goal constitutes a goalscoring opportunity?

A player is cautioned when he "denies the opposing team a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and the referee awards a penalty kick for a non-deliberate handball offence". From the FA website.
