All referees and officials have to disclose who they support and I'm sure they are vetted but yeah it's bizarre when you think about it. He's not allowed to referee Sunderland games but I'm sure when Sunderland in a relegation battle years ago, he was allowed to referee games that could've had impact on them. It’s genuinely mental he’s allowed to ref in the league at all being an open Newcastle supporter. Is it possible to just recruit refs from people who support lower league teams, or don’t even like the sport? Probably not. But didn’t Howard Webb say recently that in a hypothetical scenario, if his team Rotherham got promoted he’d have to give it up? Yet Oliver keeps bending us over without consequence.
That’s without even mentioning his ties to city’s owners.
Newcastle see us as one of their biggest rivals. Oliver would've been around 10/11 when Newcastle were going up against us for the title. He was raised in a Newcastle United home, there's no way he doesn't hate United. It's plain to see anyway in all the shite decisions he's given against us over the years not just as a referee but also when he's been on VAR. Total cnut of a man, wouldn't be surprised if he was in the away end on Monday night.
