Michael Oliver

It’s genuinely mental he’s allowed to ref in the league at all being an open Newcastle supporter. Is it possible to just recruit refs from people who support lower league teams, or don’t even like the sport? Probably not. But didn’t Howard Webb say recently that in a hypothetical scenario, if his team Rotherham got promoted he’d have to give it up? Yet Oliver keeps bending us over without consequence.

That’s without even mentioning his ties to city’s owners.
All referees and officials have to disclose who they support and I'm sure they are vetted but yeah it's bizarre when you think about it. He's not allowed to referee Sunderland games but I'm sure when Sunderland in a relegation battle years ago, he was allowed to referee games that could've had impact on them.

Newcastle see us as one of their biggest rivals. Oliver would've been around 10/11 when Newcastle were going up against us for the title. He was raised in a Newcastle United home, there's no way he doesn't hate United. It's plain to see anyway in all the shite decisions he's given against us over the years not just as a referee but also when he's been on VAR. Total cnut of a man, wouldn't be surprised if he was in the away end on Monday night.

his intervention at west ham this season should disqualify him from united games for a long time. but we're a crap football club from top to bottom so he gets the anfield fixture after trying to make it about himself last year

Wow, after his fecking shambles of a performance when we played West Ham i expected a longer period avoiding him.

The good news is that we’re so fecking shit that it’s not like he’ll have to invent a new rule interpretation just to feck us over.

He’ll be jogging aroundt he pitch with a semi no doubt.

Should be banned from reffing this weekend given his ridiculous performance as VAR in our last match.

Not sending the ref to the monitor to overturn one of the most obvious dives of the year and then deciding to overrule the linesman despite not having a definitive angle to draw lines for offside on the Felix goal was beyond absurd.

I blame the club. A serious club would have made an official complaint about him long ago. Murky the waters so much that the PGMOL have no choice but to stop him refereeing our games.

He has been appointed the referee for our match against Liverpool on Sunday, what a joke

Referee: Michael Oliver
Assistants: Stuart Burt, Lee Betts.
Fourth official:
Craig Pawson.
VAR:
Chris Kavanagh.
Assistant VAR: Dan Robathan.
As if we weren’t fecked enough already…

This guy is one of the biggest ABU WUMs in our recent history and thrives from digging the knife in.

What makes you think we haven't?

Just because we didn't opt for scorched earth ala nottingham forest, it's unlikely that we haven't voiced our concerns quite a few times (as a minimum) about the refereeing standards we've experienced under Oliver, both as a main ref and as VAR.

Going public with something against Oliver, or any other ref for that matter, would be complete suicide by the club.

This Liverpool games smells a draw! Everything is saying we should get blown the hell out... yet, for some reason I see us putting the ball in the net at least twice and hanging on for a draw. We are due goals..... lord knows we havent scored a goal in what 2-3 games?

The way we play, we're not due anything other than a battering.

Almost see Kavanagh on VAR as more worrying than Oliver. As inept and as spineless as it gets.

There is zero chance that Kavanagh has the balls to correct Oliver if/when he’s in the wrong.

Amorim needs to start complaining or commenting or anything about the refs, there are so many calls that are going against us, that shouldn't, even under ETH. In feels like the FA are finally releasing long lasting anger they had towards SAF.

You can’t complain from a position of weakness. If he calls referees out it will be ridiculed by the press, he will be declared paranoid and bitter.

As if the media doesn't stick the knives in and twist on a daily basis. We can complain whenever we are at the receiving end of ridiculous decisions from Oliver as a ref or VAR.

We are a big club. Whatever we do or say is news and click for the media. But instead of us playing the media, we allow ourselves to be played by the media. We could do a Klopp and moan about ref inconsistencies and it will become a talking point. We could point out refs having side gigs in leagues that co-own some PL clubs is an issue and that will be a talking point.

Amorim doesn't complain about referees.

I want what you're smoking

I don't think this is the time to kick up a fuss. Even if we had Sir Alex reffing the game we'd likely still get pasted, making us look foolish. Its best to muddy the waters if we actually have a genuine chance of taking something away from the game and the wider season. The sad reality is his involvement isn't going to be deciding factor on Sunday, even if he gives them every 50-50 and decides to send Dalot off again for so much as sneezing.

If he however does make yet another disgraceful decision in what ends up being surprisingly a tight game, then I'd want the gloves off. I know its not in Amorim's nature to talk about referees, but perhaps Ratcliffe himself can offset whatever fines he receives, probably from the United Kitty Orphanage fund which he'll have likely scrapped.

Weird decision to award them a free kick for Maguire's clean tackle. Also, why did he book Amad? When was the last time someone was carded for celebrating with their own fans?

So, about those lottery numbers....

It's tradition, and he was extremely lucky not to be sent off when he scored himself.

The cnuts an absolute disgrace! There’s more than enough evidence at this point for the club to come out and highlight the fact this guy simply cannot remain impartial when it comes to reffing games involving Utd. It’s beyond a joke!

Booking Maguire for a perfect challenge made me terrified he’d give a pen against Yoro
