I he think bags one and he’ll go on a run as in he’ll be a lot more dangerous around the box. He’s a class player who more often than not picks the correct option. That will be important when we will probably have less of the ball. The manager is doing the right thing rotating but I think Mount is slowly playing himself into his best 11. I expect him to start against city. Tough game and the most regular posters will be in here calling him useless. He’s got to bury one of those chances tonight though. Poor finishes
I rate your optimism but I disagree, especially with the bolded part. He ghosts through games too often to be held in such high regard. A neat and tidy player on the ball, for sure, but too often anonymous in the final third to be considered a class player. If he imposed himself on the game more then I'd warm to him but he lacks the end product. He's a backup squad player on one of our highest salaries.

Hope he proves me wrong and starts racking up some G&A soon but I just don't see it unfortunately.

Mount made a difference just by working hard and doing the dirty work. However, he is still not the goal threat he should be and I struggle to find justification for him to be playing in the advanced role instead of Bruno. You can make an argument for starting both of them as #10s with Amad back wide. However, I don't really feel Mount gives you anything at #10 that Bruno and Amad don't and I think they're much more dangerous.

He played the LAM role today which is different from the RAM role we've been seeing him in. He seem confident coming to receive from the inside left zone. He really helped us to up the tempo which is what we were lacking in the first half. I'll like to see him in this role against city.

Puts in a shift as per ususal, adds some energy which is welcomed after having Rashford stroll around the pitch for an hour.
Would be so helpful to our team if he actually looked like a top level football player though instead of a 800m runner

Not for the first time this season, the team looked better with him on the pitch in a way that mostly made me reflect on the flaws of the players who were playing when he wasn't on the pitch.

Mount immediately made an impact coming on tonight.
Unlucky not to get on the scoresheet with his two shots, but their keeper made a really good block with one of them.
Before people continue writing him off, let’s hope he gets a continuous run of games and stays injury free.
He needs regular appearances to show what he can offer.
He’s hard working, motivated and not without talent, which is more than can be said about a few of our first team squad.

A good optoin player when you wanna inject a bit of intensity, however in terms of a creative and attacking force i'm not sure he's a starter. Maybe it'll come

I think he needs to play as much as possible so his passing/finishing can get sharper. He doesn't find himself in those positions by mistake, just need to apply that finishing touch and the goals will come. My main criticism of him is that he doesn't really try to get on the ball and makes things happen, he just pops up in and around the box to finish attacking moves. Has to start against City though, we'll need him.

Think he’s one of the few you can trust to play one/two touch football and keep possession. He’s not there in terms of goals and assists, but he’s getting closer.

Definitely a useful player to have in the squad..

(Got to say the dreaded phrase)

… if he can stay fit

His runs were effective as he linked well with amad behind the striker. I've not rated him or moreso the signing upto now but can see what he can offer in this system (but we need players like amad who have some intelligence at least)

With a bit of luck he would have scored a handful of goals already this season. While his performances haven’t been anything special he has improved a notch in the last few months.

Stay fit! Keep going!

Exactly where I stand. So long as he stays fit I can see him being a valuable contributor whereas I never saw the point of having him under Ten Hag.

Rashford being the complete opposite of that.

He's been extremely unlucky with injuries and many people have written him off. He really needs a run of games to get a chance to show us and the coaching staff what he's about.

I agree. We're paying the guy, give him a good run. Rest Bruno for cup games which unfortunately are going to be out most important. Who knows he might turn into Platini (ok probably not but hey what's to lose).

He helped change the game against Plzen. Mount needs to become better in front of goal but his energy and hassling definitely helped us get a grip of a game we were shrinking in. I'd like to see him kick on from this because there hasn't been enough of that in a United shirt so far.

I remember Chelase fans saying he could only assist from set pieces. He should be taking those corners at the very least.

He looks like he is going to turn this around.

Fingers crossed, love this guy really. Charismatic, right mentality, talent is there.

Speaks volumes about Rashford that ex Chelsea man looks way more into it than him.

Big time. He looks really up for it. He’s a really good solid player who always gives 100%. I’d rather that on the left consistently than Rashford who lurches between 10% - 80% on any given day. He’ll bring more guile workrate and creativity to the side and definitely a better option if you’re serious about supplying a #9 like Rasmus

A ghost. Haunts the pitch for some time before haunting the physio for a long time. You know it's coming.

Like for like Donny replacement.

As night follows day, unfortunately.

Gutted for him, must be really frustrating and you can see that on his face. Think he'd really show his qualities in this set up.

We'll never get to see what he could've been for us. Impossible to imagine him staying fit for an extended run of games.

I feel really sorry for him, he doesn't come across as the type that doesn't care. Hopefully he can get over this period and turn into a reliable player again. I had high hopes that he was going to become a key component of Rubens system but, for now atleast, it's hard to make a compelling case he can be relied upon.

I thought he was looking good before he got injured again.

What do you even do in such a situation? On high wages and market value at an all time low as he's barely played in the last 2 years.

Feel for him. Think his body is shot. 25 year old and he’s basically not played consistent for 2/3 seasons.

I hope he can find some fitness but these injuries are worrying. His body just can't seem to handle playing

I think he copped a bad challenge early on, it seemed to be a knee problem from the collision.
Agreed and I reckon players deliberately keep targeting him with these kind of rougher tackles. I genuinely reckon he should look around him at Shaw and the Phil Jones shaped groove in the physio table + take an extended break, forget trying to get back as soon as possible and just really take his time to build his fitness back. Whatever he’s doing now simply ain’t working.
