I know it’s laughed at but I genuinely think Bruno would have been better in the positions that Rashford and Amad were in today. They got a load of space. One of the wingers should have come off for ZirkzeeWith him on the pitch we look better in the press and in possession.
But the CF-less formation also looks toothless, so someone has to come off when we play one of Hojlund or Zirkzee.
Given how bad Rashford has been I might be tempted to try dropping him and shift one of Bruno/Mount out wide, but then they might not be as effective out there anyway.
Not sure what the solution is, but that's two games in a row where we looked visibly worse having taken him off.
I mean he is a decent goal scorer and creator. Not just a presser. His time in Chelsea is all you need to look at. He made some great passes today that opened up a lot of space for our players to exploit but failed to do, and he also linked up very nicely with Bruno on several occasions. He may well be the best presser alive and we may well look more comfortable on the defensive side when he’s on the pitch but he’s a total non-entity when we have it. He’s not creative, he’s not much of a goalscorer, and he’s not a player who can take players on and carry the ball forward.
He’s a specialist skillset of a player who we signed for far too much money and gave an (well, former, I guess) iconic shirt number to.
Well look what happened when he went off. He was clearly doing something rightDid absolutely nothing with the ball, who fecking cares if he pressed well.

We scored two goals when he went off, one disallowed.Well look what happened when he went off. He was clearly doing something right
You're going to get so much hate for this but couldn't agree more.Lingard vibes all over again. And same fans reactions are the same as with Jesse. "Pressing maschine" and "nice linking up".
He doesn't create, he doesn't score, he doesn't dictate tempo. 60 million and no7 for pressing and quick one-twos. Great piece of business.
Over the course of his entire career, he is an average goalscorer and a creator. He had one very good season in 21/22 which was over 3 years ago.I mean he is a decent goal scorer and creator. Not just a presser.
Because of individual brilliance by Amad. We also had one disallowed when he was on the pitch as well. But that’s not the point. The point is we were much better as a team when mount was on the pitch. We scored two goals when he went off, one disallowed.
So what exactly did he do right.
But if we are better with him than without him, should we make an angry decision to leave him out ?Lingard vibes all over again. And same fans reactions are the same as with Jesse. "Pressing maschine" and "nice linking up".

Only thing that makes sense for me wmfor that to work would be to bench Kobbie and play Mount in his position and since I can't see that happening, Mount will end up on the benchThe biggest problem is how do we start with both Bruno and Mount. This is why the transfer was so weird. Two players who are best in the same position.
We are not going to be a top team with them both starting.
Unless there is a plan for a change of formation when everyones fit and bedded in. 3 at the back. The biggest problem is how do we start with both Bruno and Mount. This is why the transfer was so weird. Two players who are best in the same position.

ETH just said ‘he had issues, problems’.
Clear as mud.
Team can't afford having him. Because with him you must play without striker. And then we don't create. We have some kind of control but that is it.But if we are better with him than without him, should we make an angry decision to leave him out ?
