I don't care anymore is it his quality or attitude or ambition or whatever but it is not working for him and us anymore.
He should be first to leave next summer. Something is just wrong with him.

The man was a sub that didn't do much, watch him get the bulk of the criticism and abuse though

I get that some of you are expecting him to change games* when he comes off the bench..... It would be nice yes, I was hopeful too, but he didn't change the game and neither did anyone else. The expectations on Rashford are crazy considering none of y'all rate him.....

*Probably the same people that wanted Bruno subbed.
And good that you are here as usual to complain and look at every possible angle to defend him.

Here, have some smilies too

Even with low expectations from our highest paid player who's closing in on ten years in the first team, he somehow still finds a way to disappoint.

feck the abuse, but he just isn't good enough anymore.
Maybe.... I didn't see enough here or against Arsenal to come to that conclusion but for many, it doesn't take much....

Jim needs to go down and start fining players that come on and look half arsed.

its almost as if he signed a megastar contract and is a senior player. He cant even start after the new guy sized him up pretty quickly

3 pathetic seasons out or 4 is more than enough evidence. Bang average player with poor football intelligence, no impact off the ball and player of the league wages. Sell him asap.

Amorim has talked about wanting it, the desire, the importance of running your bollox off to win matches.

Not really showing either.

Its so difficult to believe that there are posters still defending him like he will turn world class tomorrow.

This guy will make more in a month than most of us will in our entire lives. He's an absolute joke that needs to be removed from this football club.

I don't even think his departure would mean United would improve, but there is no way any player at our club should be on 300k a week. Especially one that has 3 shite seasons in the past 4.

I knew we would lose after he had come on. It was like playing with ten men.

I hope Amorin is learning because Ole and EtH didn't.

Just one poster - the guy who comes in here every game to call out anyone who dares criticize Rashford

Not responsible for the loss, of course. He wasn't on the pitch when the damage was done.

'The Great Marcus Rashford' coming off the bench and doing virtually nothing for 37 minutes when we need goals to turn the game around, just ticks off another box of how worthless he is.

Had a number of chances to run at backtracking defenders with space behind, but either lost the ball or just passed back. Another nail in the coffin.

Surely, PSG would give us a half decent fee for him. It would be pure profit and rid us of the biggest football contract joke ever signed.
I don’t care what he’s done in the past or that he’s an academy product, he just doesn’t look like he cares and hasn’t performed consistently for years. We really wouldn’t miss him but the money would be good for the club.

As soon as I saw he was coming on, you knew it wouldn’t end well. Another poor showing but getting bored of saying it now. 1 good game in every 10 for him, these days.

I'd rather see him up front as he is too limited in that number 10 role. As a striker he could at least get to the end of crosses into the box.

I don’t think he has the technical ability to play as a 10 in the system, and he doesn’t have the physicality to play as a 9. Doesn’t have defensive instincts to play as a wing back. He needs to be sold.

We can talk about him going but to where? He has a £250-300k a week contract until 2028. What can club can match that, or would want to?

We are stuck with him, same way we are stuck with Shaw

Seems like there is a general debate going on, thats nothing I want to participate in, as my position on the player has been expressed often enough.

On todays game, I thought, he was decent for his own standards. Made some good use of the ball and looked lively. His technique on long passes seems pretty good, his switches have that zip on him, we could really use that. Maybe he should be tried at wingback for some spells of the game. That of course only applies to this season, beyond that, we need to double check if club and player really want to continue their relationship or if it wouldn't be better for everybody when there would be a little shakeup. Maybe he needs a year abroad, switch of scenery or something.

Always the wages

The wages are what they are. For me it’s his age. Our front line are all very young. Amad, Garnacho, Zirkzee and Hojlund can be expected to be inconsistent. They‘ve got their best years ahead of them. They’re all crying out for another player alongside them who is at his peak. Producing 7 or 8 out of 10 performances every week, dragging them along in his slipstream. Rashford should be that player. That’s his status at the club. He’s being well paid because he’s into his biggest contract at a massive club. And the reason he’s on such a fat contract is his age when he signed the deal. Which is fair enough. Footballers only get one career. They need that big contract when their career peaks.

The fact that he’s as flaky and hit and miss as players 6 or 7 years younger than him is what is killing us this season. And the season before. It’s a massive problem for the club. So fans are going to understandably be focused on that problem, until it goes away.

I hear ya, it's a much more nuanced take than I usually see in here and as long as his form is pretty mid I won't be arguing with ya.

I'm hoping that he can find some form and I'm just tired of the incessant negativity but contrary to what some will try and make you believe in here. I'm not defending Rashford any more than I defend the other players, posters just tend to go overboard with Rashford and that's what I usually comment on... which pisses posters off to the extent they start calling people Stans it seems, but what do I care? I'm one in a sea of many....

Like it or not he's still a big name player, so I reckon they'll be takers for him in the summer at the right price.

Whatever he had is long gone. There's just zero intensity or purpose to his game, his time is up.

How long do we all reckon it will be before he comes on as a sub and then gets subbed? I reckon it'll happen in early January.

Won't help his resale value but who's going to sign this guy?

We’re stuck with Antony, Mount and Casemiro as well, it’s a huge PSR burden on wages (and fees for those 3). Those 5 players must cost about a million a week on wages combined and none of them will be starting regularly either due to ability/form/fitness.

I think we’ve now reached the point where the club would actually sell Rashford but I can’t see who would buy him.

He's just not doing enough.

Not sure he'll ever bounce back here. Needs a change of scenery.

Even if he isn't being dropped for another poor performance, he's most likely being dropped for his conduct post-match in not joining his teammates in clapping the away fans.

Amorim won't tolerate someone who doesn't participate in the collective.
Agreed and he can't hide behind religion either

No, sir.

You don't understand. The ceiling is low. They just want him to come on, not misplace simple passes, show concerted effort in a press, not dribble blindly into players, and make the team better.

It's not about him doing heroics, or saving the day. They're just tired of him being a poor player in general, whether he's starting or coming off the bench.

I like him, but his ability with the ball has left a lot to be desired for a little while now. Not the same player he once was.
