Im not a rashford PR supporter but can someone tell me exactly what he did wrong yesterday?

I thought his first touch was clumsy, but every time he lost the ball he tried to win it back and i literally saw him wrestling against the defenders.

He was also the player that nearly scored from a great volley that replicated his goal vs Everton except the ball bounced the other way off a defender.

Then finally he put arguably our best corner of the game where Martinez was able to do a bycicle kick.

What did he do bad here? I didnt see any tracking back problems yesterday & he didnt look lazy.

Is it because he didnt score? Because ever since he came on it was only Amad & Rashford that looked like they had any chance of scoring.

He could have done this all game. It's the least we expect of our players, let alone youth academy product and top earner

He's as shit as it's get so much that a little track backing after a few season of being turd, been made as vindication.

This is not the united i fell in love with. Not the player the epitomizes academy product. Not the value that i grew up watching under SAF

If you find there's nothing wrong with his display, then dont complain we're midtable. Even midtable players plays better than him 9 out of 10 games. He plays well 1 out of 10

Now roll on the excuse that it wasn't his fault he's not told to tract back

Agenda. People can’t stand him and they’re free not to, but even after a game where he scores these days, the focus is the time he didn’t track or how he didn’t smile at the fans or something else. There is going to be minimizing of anything good he does and exaggeration of any bad performances, or even mistakes within a good performance.

I get it, he’s paid a lot and is not worth it, but it’s annoying when people will regurgitate the same stuff after every match no matter how the match went.

Bruno is similar, he can assist three and score another three in a game, and some posters on here will pull up his % passes completed, as if they’ve discovered something of value or hard for us to find out with a simple google search.

He's basically pointless at this stage. Wish we could get rid but suspect we're stuck with him.

He didn't do anything wrong we just have truly terrible fans who hate on him constantly and want to blame him for everything wrong with their own lives.

You need to bear that in mind when on this thread and just treat all the hate as a reminder of how poor our fanbase has become.

When exactly did he not track back?

Im just curious because ever since Maguire came in Nottingham hardly went past us.

It literally became Amad & Rashford on the right vs anyone else.

And his fans who blindly excuse everything he does and bleat about everyone else just being 'haters' or whatever.

Yes, some of the criticism of him in the past has been overblown but at this point he's washed; next to useless, zero effort and a waste of space.

Not all criticism is hate though, surely you can see that? You quoted my post yesterday where I was saying IF he was walking away from the away fans without reason then it was very disrespectful. What exactly was wrong about that statement? It definitely wasn't hate on my part. I loved watching Rashford years ago for United, but there is legitimate criticism to be had of him these days.

In saying all that this thread shouldn't have been bumped after yesterday's game, Rashford was the least of our worries, and he didn't really do anything wrong when he came on. There are definitely ones on here who hate him, but don't lump all of us that post legitimate criticism in with that lot ok?

He gives off bad vibes but he's far more likely to create a chance than Garnacho.

If Amorim has to play one of them as a 10, it should be him.

If his attitude and application isn’t a big feck you to the coach, I don’t know what is.

Interesting. I thought our attack was worse after he came on. At least with garnacho he tries things even if selfish at times.

Rashford was hesitant / scared to take on a man yesterday and lost the ball. The one thing about him (and see it with Bruno too) is the needless unnecessary flicks to try and pass it which ends up losing possession.

Also large amount of people who comment on here don’t actually watch the game, so make things up to suit the agenda.

I honestly thought we’d see a reaction from him this season after the embarrassment of not being picked for the Euros squad. How wrong I was. The guy doesn’t give a shit anymore.

I watched the match and Rashford wasn’t amazing but it was a very decent cameo in that right 10 position. Everything dangerous in the last 20 minutes came through him and Amad on the right. Frustratingly, our midfield seemed unable to pass to them and so they didn’t get as much as the ball as they should but it was obvious the Rashford/Amad combination was our potential route back into the match.

Have to say, I don’t understand why Amorim views him as a right sided player. He’s far better on the left (oddly Garnacho is far better on the right but keeps playing left). Taking that into account, I think he’s done a really good job of trying to settle into that position. Frustrating that, after the two goals last weekend, he then hasn’t started either match which we desperately needed to win to keep momentum going.

Early days, but it’s confusing management to win 4-0 and then not start either of the two players who scored all the goals in either match thereafter - especially when the two players who have played instead have been consistently hopeless in both losses.

I did wonder during the game why Amorim wants him on the right where as you say he's never at his best.

I do think Amorim is still feeling his way in and working out players best positions but for Rashford it's certainly not on the right.

I suspect it might be because he thinks he will link up well with Amad. Have to see how it goes. I assumed it would be back to the Everton set up yesterday and I’m fairly confident we’d have won with that starting 11.

I don't see how? People regularly state whatever we get is free cash as he's an academy product, which will true doesn't matter as he is on a huge contract. BBC states he earns £325k until 2028 so this summer he will have 3 years left on his contract and I don't see how any other club gives him more than £150k (If he's lucky) which means we will have to pay him the remaining £200k per week for 3 years of his contract which is just north of £30m we will owe him, I can't see anybody giving us much more than that as a transfer fee?

It's probably to force him to develop his game a bit and snap him out of being a cut in and shoot merchant. If he's going to part of this squad he has to have more to his game.

If he's on £300k per week he has over £50m in outstanding wages here. Difficult to see anyone being willing to take on that and pay us a fee for him.

Already we see Garnacho is being picked ahead of him, even after he scored twice against Everton. Do you think he'll stay if the coach and hierarchy all wants him out. A compromise will have to be found.

It's ran it's course. He doesn't offer what we need in this team. We would do well to get £30m for him and with the ridiculous wages the club have stupidly given him, he's gonna be difficult to shift.

I hope we go for the Napoli Georgian guy Kvaradona I don't know the actual name. His profile is what we need in that LAM role in Amorim 3-4-3.

Signs aren't good are they?! All points to an exit. The club have put up with this for too long now. Best hopes are that Saudi come in for him and we get a truck load of cash.

It's embarrassing. Small club mentality.

I don't see that huge ambition from him, he has got in trouble several times for his behaviour, often criticised by fans for lack of effort and is being paid £325k a week guaranteed for years and can't even get selected for his country, I would suggest if he was ambitious he would have sought to change a lot of this much earlier.
