He should stay at Monaco for a few years yet and continue to progress. He'll be another Martial if he leaves and plays 20 minutes of football every month or so at a bigger club.
Correct, but if Real comes this year with a 70M+ offer it'll be hard for Monaco to keep a boy that only played 30 games. That's insane money for him.
Of course he should stay, but I don't really think that Monaco can afford to keep him.
I do think that Real will sell Morata and since the BBC is getting 'older' (it's relative) I really think that Mbappé can have a chance in this team.
He would have better opportunities going to Madrid, playing here and there instead of Benzema or Bale, and being coached by Zidane, than coming here and being another Martial.
The thing is you can't be sure Zidane would hold on to his job at this season's end. And I don't think even Perez's ready to make full cash payment for a player this young, not enough commercial pull for this kind of fee... A transfer with addon fee still leaves other clubs chance. Or Monaco simply tries to hold on to him to make him the best player he can possibly be with them so they can get the best fee in a few years than risk never pick up the addon fees.

Unfortunately Martial reminds me a lot of Anelka in his attitude and demeanour whereas this kid adolises Ronaldo and plays at 110% constantly so I'd say he's got a higher ceiling.
By the end of the year, we'll have both Martial and M'Bappe.

Its hard to to make a case for us moving in for him this summer. Even if Griezemann doesn't happen I think Mourinho will look to bring in a more experienced player.

Been doing OK at Schalke, but let's be honest he was never that good in the first place. More physique than movement etc. Mbappe has both though, which is why he will go further.
To be fair to the guy, he had a good start with a couple of league goals against Gladbach but suffered a season-ending injury in October.

He seems to be smart and has good people around him. He already turned down Real Madrid. The only reason he might join you is if the money is astronomical.
Football wise he can do better and Mourinho is a defensive coach and won't improve his game. He will most likely leave for Real Madrid in a season to replace Ronaldo. He is a Madrid and Ronaldo fan.
That means little to nothing these days - Odegaard, Aguero and De Bruyne were childhood Liverpool fans as well. On top of that, Ronaldo played for United before joining Real. Mbappe will just go where the money is right and preferably to a team that plays attractive football.
So his motivations are the same as pretty much any other footballer on the planet.
If we don't sign this lad I can see the usual suspects blame Mourinho for his reluctance to give youth a chance, while simultaneously ignoring the fact that signing him would be a body blow to the one homegrown product Mourinho has been making the most effort to develop - Marcus Rashford.

Very true - Dele Alli is a Liverpool fan and Stevie G is his hero but even though Liverpool went for him he chose Spurs because we guaranteed game time. It's career first always.
This is definiely an issue, there are 2 or 3 excellent young strikers around right now but there's always that section that frown on the idea of getting them as they want the way left open for Rashford, whether he's the best prospect or not.
