Kylian Mbappé | Player Performance Thread

That name

Mbappe would get more than enough playing time. The drop in quality from Sane Jesus Sterling to Nolito Navas and Kelechi is far too large. Considering Manchester City will be fighting on all 4 fronts again Mbappe can only supplement your squad. I would even go as far as saying that another forward is a necessity. If the Sanchez rumours are true he would be fit the Manchester City team like a glove.

I totally agree with you. Sanchez to City seems a pretty strong possibility and Mbappe would be the icing on the icing on the cake.

He's nobility. His full name is Friedrich Leonhard Ignatius Josef Maria Lamoral Balthasar Thurn und Taxis. He's really bad at commentating but at the same time very entertaining.

I'm sure you know his face, you have to google it in google images.

It's Prince Albert Piercing. Piercing is the surname.

Oh, and you don't want to do it at work. It's illegal to do such things at work you silly.
Ah, The Prince Albert gimmick from WWF makes more sense now

Holy schmoly

Sounds like the Transfer forum is the place for you.

The transfer forum is like crack to me during transfer season. I can't wait for the "in the knows" to tell us of distant cousins in Spain who swear they saw griezman at a party where he got drunk and told them he was on his way to United.

His mother said there is no chance he plays in Paris because it will distract him apparently.

I can't see him going to PSG. I see him at Monaco for another season then depending on how he does in the 2018 world cup I see him going to Real Madrid.
I agree. Real need a new striker since Benzema is hardly setting the world on fire. I wouldn't mind bringing Benzema to OT as a short term option if the transfer fee is acceptable.

I would rather spend 100m on M'bappé than 80m on Lukaku, but Griezmann is a more realistic target and he should complement Rashford nicely.

It would be an upgrade. Aguero is one of the main reasons your defence is under so much pressure. He loses almost every single ball when playing with back to goal, his passing decisions are usually terrible, his finishing is lacklustre and it's taking him 2 to 3 clear cut chances to score goals. City create so many great goal scoring chancesin terms of volume and quality.

When he eventually does beat his man and is running into space, he runs with his head down and tries to bulldoze defenders but just loses the ball. Outside of the area he is a terrible footballer and the only thing elite about him was his finishing and that has gone because of the amount of running he has do, he becomes lethargic in front of goal. His injuries have meant his ability to turn defenders and win one vs ones duels have almost completely diminished and his burst of pace he had when he was younger is gone.

Mbappe is faster, better aerially, better in the channels so he can swap with Sterling and Sane and Manchester City won't lose their rythm, he is better at holding up the ball and makes better use of his teammates. He would be perfect for Pep Guardiola's position game. The constant pressing won't affect his game because he is young and takes care of himself. Aguero's diet is one of the main reasons he got inury problems and he even went to the Dr who solved Messi's injury crisis by changing his but its a little too late. The chickens have come home to roost.

Sounds a bit harsh on Aguero but I tend to agree. Aguero's general play is very poor nowadays, he offers nothing outside the penalty box and misses too many chances, second only to Zlatan in this respect.

He's a super talent. Never misses the target. Very little doubt that he's the real deal.

It's not just that he scores goals against minnows for a team that doesn't compete for the title. He's in the CL semi's and leading the Ligue 1 with Monaco.

Add to that what we gave for martial... all players who would improve any team too. I know we couldn't afford the time for all those prospects to play into the amazing form, the league is harder etc... but still... sign their head of scouting or whoever is responsible for signing these players because they can spot a star a mile off. It's not a fluke. Too many good players playing good football.

Best thing for him would be for all sides in Europe to agree to leave him the feck alone for a year and resume the bidding war in 2018. A full season at Monaco playing another 40 games in a side that suits him is absolutely the best thing for his career.

Sadly I think he'll move too soon. Hope he chooses well.

Mbappe is way more suited up front.

Monaco don't really play a 433. Mbappe and Falcao up top with Lemar on left and Silva on right.
If you watch Monaco, which I know you do, you see Mbappe' starting position is often wide left. It's a pivot with Falcao, but of the two, Mbappe is the more withdrawn.
Thats Rashford you described there.
Rashford is gash out wide, a natural centre forward, whereas Mbappe can do both.

The road to actually becoming the best in the world is cluttered with obstacles and unexpected pitfalls (injury, form, attitude, wrong manager, etc). But I think he is probably the best teenage player since Messi. He doesn't just flash talent. His production is very high and consistent and his game is very well rounded already. Its only one season but he is streets ahead of other teenage players that have been hyped as the next big thing only to quickly fall off.

I think it would be pretty stupid for a club to be willing to pay 90M for Griezmann or Lukaku but not be willing to pay that much for Mbappe.

Nah, Mbappe will go for at least 90m. Every top club in Europe wants him and the price will sky rocket.
I agree there's a lot of interest, but I don't see any clubs being willing to take such a huge risk that they'd break the transfer record for someone so young that's only recently burst onto the scene. Which clubs are that desperate for a striker?

Nobody's spending 90 million on an 18-year old with one good season under his belt. Rightly so too.

Its crazy but I can see it happening. And for clubs who would pay it I would say us, City, Real or PSG would if it got into a bidding war.
