Movement wise he reminds me of our boy Hernandez. He's much more natural on the ball but that haste of movement and the subtle feints he does before he makes the move to wrong foot the defender are very similar.
 
Man Utd should buy Fabinho or Mendy rather than Mbappe - especially at the prices being suggested.
 
Looks a real special talent.

If we can get him I'd pay the cash as I think he will genuinely be worth the money.

He never has the raw tools that Mbappe had. He was just highly developed at a young age. No doubt he could stagnate for any number of reasons but he is a really special talent.
 
Would rather have Griezmann but would still be drooling over this kid. Both is fantasy but either would make the season ticket money well worth it.
 
I thought he was by far and away Monaco's best player last night. Probably not the best game he's ever had but he looks an incredible talent.

No? Mbappe is highly developed at a young age. Both were fast and powerful. What other raw tools are these?

Mbappe's technique is better than Lukaku's ever will be. The same is true of Martial, but Mbappe's a level beyond him too. Lukaku was undoubtedly a huge young talent but they're not in the same bracket, for me.
 
He reminds me of fat Ronaldo. He's going to be a special player if he keeps going this way. Absolute fantasy thinking we'll ever get him unfortunately. Hopefully I'm wrong!
 
How could anyone not be excited at the prospect of signing him? He practically teleported past Juve players at times last night and we all know he can finish too. I doubt we'll offer the £100m+ Monaco want but he's clearly the real deal.
 
Wenger said he was at his home last year. Clearly, now it is too late to get him for us. Another missed opportunity :rolleyes:
 
Does it not worry anyone that once he has come up against a resilient defense, he was unable to breach it? There is some pretty tough and dogged defending in the PL, and don't forget the cold wet Monday in Stoke.

It would be a pretty big risk and a potentially expensive mistake.

I'd rather drop the money on Greisman.

There are many, many, rubbish defenders in the PL. Half of the best 7 teams can't even defend.
 
Mbappe is a class player, no question, but I think last night against Juventus you saw how he fared against top quality defenders, although to be fair to him, he wasn't given many opportunities, Monaco as a team struggled against Juve.
No trying to denigrate him at all, he is a great player and a fabulous prospect, but I think it has to be borne in mind he is still only 18.

1) It's not a single players job to breach a defence. He actually caused a lot of problems for the best defence in the world, on another day he would have come away with a goal.

2) There is no premier league side who are at the same level as Juventus tactically. Mbappé will score goals against any PL team he comes up against, not only because he is a special talent, but because chances are he will be playing in a pretty good team.

3) Every transfer is a risk, and whoever gets Mbappé in the end will be taking a big risk, but anyone who has watched football for a long time and watched young players flop time and again can surely see that Mbappé has got attributes which will take him to the very top.

Aside from the raw attributes a top striker needs, the guy almost always makes the right decision which shows a high game intelligence. imo, Without injury, Mbappé is a sure thing.
 
The one player that would make breaking the transfer record (again) seem acceptable to me. The best youth prospect of his generation.

With Rooney, Zlatan, and a few others out the door, it frees up a lot of wages, and probably a few decent fees for the likes of Jones, Young, Rooney, Shaw, de Gea.

Everything is so good. The run he makes for the pass, the way he gets in front of the defender to be the first on the ball. After that, he has the composure to wait for his teammates and creates the pass to make the assist. Such a mature game and so young. The potential is scary tbh

As in William Carvalho. He's just what we need imo. That midfield trio would dominate. Herrera and Carvalho deepest, Pogba just ahead. Then the forward line speaks for itself.

He's the "type" of player we need but he's not the quality IMO.
 
He's going to tear it up for Real Madrid for the next 10 years plus.

Well I expect him to go there anyway, main reason why I'm not actually enjoying his classness very much.

It's hard to get that quality, but any decent defensive midfielder is an upgrade on Fellaini. Carvalho would suit the Premier League, he's attainable, and won't cost much. Having a good season at Sporting* too.

*I'm going by Whoscored here, but a few games in Europe too.

His best attribute is his passing, but good physicality and technique as well. We could go for someone like Mascarell of Frankfurt if we wanted a relatively lower key option. Best interception statistics of any midfielder across the top leagues this year. But there are different types of players for the position. Likes of Kante/Mascarell, who just break up play. Or more all rounders like Carvalho who defend differently. Anyway, enough of my amateur scouting, I'm derailing the thread.
 
Mourinho would ruin Mbappe. We didn't have a chance in hell at signing him.

Let's just hope he goes abroad, he'd suit Real if they offload one of their strikers this summer. A season playing second fiddle to Benzema before taking over the folllwing would be perfect.
