Mkhitaryan also instantly gives us a creative option. And he's younger and cheaper.

One is proven in the league, one isn't. Many players just don't work in the premier league or even at our club.
So saying he instantly does anything, is guess work.

Being Premier League 'proven' is the biggest crock of shite around. Schneiderlin was 'proven' and he had a season just as rotten as anyone other transfer in our side.

Slavan Bilic also said that Payet best position is off the left wing.

I would agree, between that and him not exactly being lightning quick and West Ham probably looking for £50-60m for him it would not be a sensible move.

Confirmation by BVB fans that the article was translated correctly

Will we then hear this weekend that a decision like this can't be made until the financial markets open during the week, and then on Monday morning will we then hear that a decision can't be made until the US markets open a few hours later?

;)

Shall we start placing bets on who the first news outlet to call us 'Mkhitaryan United' are?

And when?

Payet might not work at our club. Just look at Fellaini or Schneiderlin. He doesn't guarantee anything either.

Announcement will be made in new fiscal year so as to account for these two in next year's books of accounts. That means you can say announcement most likely on friday/monday.

I think him being a success at Utd is very much 50/50

The fact he had a bad relationship with Klopp and seemed very quick to blame the system and manager rather than take some responsibility himself has warning signs for me

He seems to blow hot and cold and when in bad form its spectacularly bad

The US markets are closed on Monday for Independence day ;)

The improved offer was to deduct the price of a boardroom chair from Raiola's commission.

Dortmund had members of staff frantically destroy various bits of their offices, bathroom sinks and toilets destroyed, windows glassed in. Players murdered. A statue of Ibra erected pissing on the CEO's car. All factored into the final figure.

 that could be read a few ways, Ronaldo paved the way in phallic statues

Some of Klopp's man management is mind boggling though - such as his treatment of Benteke.

Announcements have nothing to do with the accounting of it. The transaction time can be a later date.

Just like the NYSE has nothing to do with the timing of our announcements.

Would they announce they have money before bringing in a replacement though? They have to look after their interests too, so probably lots of hot air until alls in place

German media pretty much unanimously (SportBild, Süddeutsche, Ruhrnachrichten, Derwesten/Waz) report €40m which at the current exchange rate means £33m, I expect that info to be coming directly from Dortmund.

I doubt that. Getting business done early is very important to Dortmund, so I think either he moves in the upcoming days (which is most likely) or he won't move at all.

The fee is getting bigger with every passing minute, back up to €40m now or £33m, I know the pound is crumbling but how can we not do better with only a year left on his contract? We weren't even getting this much from Madrid for the best goal keeper in the World last Summer in similar circumstances.

So he is pragmatic after all.

Who cares?

I love Lingard but we definitely needed an improvement at RW for the first team. I admittedly haven't seen much of Henrik but being one of the best players in the Bundesliga last season can't hurt. RW should be sorted now with Lingard being good enough to be backup.

What? I don't think anyone who has a deeper understanding of German football claimed that Dortmund's leadership isn't pragmatic.

This is what I said two weeks ago:
I wouldn't worry about the Watzke quote. He's been flexible about these kind of things in the past and should a good offer come in it would be easy for him to just say that circumstances have changed and that it would be good for the club.

I remember people people getting so excited when we signed Falcao

For the sake of your emotional state its better to get excited once a player has delivered. Veron, Forlan underperformed so much i cant get excited any more about new signings.

Hope this Miki guy does well. Just wonder how many months he will need to settle down at United and in PL before he plays consistently well

Haha that's so funny! As if Manchester United's audited accounts take purchases from when they are announced! It might be concluded and the contracts signed in July but the announcement has nothing to do with it....

Unless of course you were being sarcastic :nervous::nervous::nervous:

Bloody hell mate the signings of Veron and Forlan were ages ago! You haven't got excited for any signings since them?

Proven in the league & proven at our club are 2 entirely different things.
We've had many players, who've under perform for United, then move on & look twice the player.
A rotten season under Van Gaal isn't a measure of a player. Morgan isn't the type of player Van Gaal needed, yet bought him anyways & utilised him poorly.

So Mkhitaryan to Manchester United is done. As @uersfeldsays, clubs just waiting for the new fiscal year. Around €40m fee.

I reckon it's on Dortmund's side not ours.
What is he on about, "new fiscal year"?

UK fiscal year goes April-March, German fiscal year is Jan-Dec

Does he mean next quarter?
