Is it from Bild? Isn't they supposed to be the reliable ones?

*unzips*

Throwing more shit at the wall and hoping some sticks. No sign of any strategy yet to our targets if this is true apart from value which hasn't worked yet.

Huh? Our supposed targets seem to be players that fix glaring holes in our squad, and are of a good level. This is the least scattergun approach we've had since Fergie left.

@Sphaero

What is his best position? From the little I have seen of him it looks like he's a natural attacking left midfielder. What's your view?

Let's say Mou plays him as a left attackin mid with license to roam around and he can replicate nearly all of the form he had for Dorrmund last season, do you think that he can succeed in the PL the same way he was successful for you?

Is he a big game player, game changer or a character who delivers his best when expectation are low?

My opinion is that he is a very good player. If he can keep his self confidence and have a good start he can be a sensation for us. A front three with Martial - Zlatan - Mahrez/Sané with Mhkitaryan just behind would be awesome. But maybe that's just me being muppet and too optimistic....

Like the player. Dislike his agent. What is gonna stop this guy(agent) trying to do the same two years from now to us what he is doing to Dortmund to move him along one more time before the player is 30 for one big check? Is'nt he the same guy who represented Pogba? That turned out well for us!!

His first season was okay, given that he played in Ukraine before. His second season was worse though and at times abyssmal.
Based on this season he can play any offensive minded position (and roams a lot), he's two footed, very quick and just all around a good player with great defensive awareness.

Arsenal fans on their reddit sub are not happy with the latest quotes :D

ahhhhhhhhhh...... feed me their tears

Mou, King-Z, Bailly, Mkhi-something. Sounds like back to top3 next season, at least. ;)

fecking Watzke doesnt want to sell him, acording to Raiola fears backlash of fans, even though they promised him he could leave.

He's coming off the best season of his career, I believe was voted Bundesliga POTY and plays in a position we need, I don't see how buying him would be throwing shit at he wall and hoping it sticks. We needed a CB and got one, we need a striker and Ibra is almost certainly coming, we need a creative versatile attacker that can play on the RW and Mkhitarayn would fill that role. Seems to me Jose has identified the weaknesses and is addressing them.

We sorely miss creativity, so I'm all for this transfer. Would probably have to pay more than 50 million (or Dortmund probably wouldn't even budge at that) if it wasn't for his contract.

Based on his ability and skillset I'd say he would be a very nice upgrade on the likes of Mata, Fellaini, Herrera, memphis, Lingard and obviously Young. Even if he couldn't reproduce the extremely great spells and numbers he has now had both at Shaktar and at Dortmund, he would still be a very useful player because of his pace mixed with technique and vision.

But I think if he really wants to sign for us, Mourinho will love him and he will become a monster. Henrikh really is a bit of a genius.

The bold thing was never in question. His mentality however is. He is a very sensitive player and not very good at handling pressure. He was already prone to selfdoubt in the (by the club created) very comfortable and calm enviroment in Dortmund. Manchester United is in terms of medial exposure, critique and pressure a completely different ball park as are most elite clubs.

I don't blame him or his agent in the case tbh, why should he stay? They keep losing their best players and to their rivals

Please make a higher bid and force them to sell, would be great for us. Finally some pace and creativity

Looking forward to seeing which the right translation is, they seem to vary by quite a bit right now. Can't tell whether we've bid or whether Raiola's saying he wants us to.

Yes this is the worrying part, but if he comes, you hope Mourinho can give him that confidence.

Still kinda hope he goes to Arsenal fairly sure he'll flop.

Not really. Very hit and miss.

Fair enough. Sure someone said that when we were linked to Gundogan last summer (which they got wrong tbf) so the only thing of interest there is the quotes which are more positive than the tone of the article and aren't even theirs.

Like Herrera and Schneiderlin darmian and several others were. Zlatan is free and this lad has a year left. Could be good business or could be more of what we have experienced lately I guess.

This combined with what Mkhitaryan has said about Klopp being too focused on counter-attacking rather than possession play and not giving him enough creative license on the pitch really make me wonder about the fit with Mourinho/United. But he would certainly be a good signing for the likely cost.

Fair point. I just don't like this guy(agent). I was really hoping we won't have to deal with him after Zlatan, but Mkhitaryan is a good player, so I guess if we really want him, we need to deal with this guy. Oh well, I am on board for the Mkhitaryan muppet train. :D

Yeah this would've been far more of a problem if LVG was still around. With Mou, I think his man management would only lead to Micki improving if anything.

Well this and Pogba then he can feck off :lol:

His decision making is a big concern for me. Breaks down good attacking moves through by being overly selfish or choosing a poor passing option.

I still can't forget the two Semis against Real Madrid where he singlehandedly ruined countless chances and gifted the tie to Madrid.

For the quoted price though, it's a no-brainer and he'll be an upgrade on the likes of Mata, Lingard etc.

Wish we could sign Ousmane Dembele though!

I speak German, here is the translation of the most important parts from the source article der Westen which is reliable when it comes to BvB:

Mkhitaryan will BVB-Vertrag nicht verlängern

(Mkhitaryan will not extend his contract with BvB)

Henrikh Mkhitaryan soll trotzdem beim BVB bleiben. Sein Vertrag läuft 2017 aus. Mkhitaryans Berater Mino Raiola kritisierte den BVB deswegen scharf.
(Henrikh Mkhitaryan will however still stay with BvB. His contract ends in 2017. Due to this, Mkhitaryans agent/adviser Mino Raiola has criticized BvB sharply)

Spielmacher Henrikh Mkhitaryan wird seinen 2017 auslaufenden Vertrag bei Borussia Dortmund nicht verlängern. Das sagte Geschäftsführer Hans-Joachim Watzke der "Bild".
(Playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan will not extend his contract which ends in 2017. This was said by BvB CEO Watzke to Bild.)

(... much bla bla bla ...)

Manchester United soll an Henrikh Mkhitaryan interessiert sein. "ManUnited ist eine einmalige Chance, Micki will unbedingt dahin", erklärte Raiola.
(Manchester United is supposedly interested in Mkhitaryan. "Man United is a once in a lifetime opportunity, Micki does absolutely want to go there", states Raiola (Micki's agent).

 He was amazing in those games, you saw the best and worst of him.
Brilliant play to get into or create an opportunity then he just fluffs his lines

And looking at Pogbas development, he did the exact right thing for his client.

Hes been like that every time ive seen him play! Genuinely not sure I've seen a game of his where he hasnt missed at least one pretty straight forward chance.

I would love this to happen, just to wind up Arsenal fans

I'll never forget that tie. I've never seen a player destroy the hard works of other 10 players so badly. It wasn't once or twice and not even just 1 leg, he's absolutely pathetic in both legs. Has to be one of (if not) the single most worst individual performances over 2 legs in the CL history.

Yeah I remember you explained quite a bit about that on here, apparently he's just that intelligent/sensitive type of guy. Somehow I just feel United would really suit him though, and he's now at an age where most players tend to become a bit more mentally stable because of their experience. All in all I guess I have some pretty high hopes for this one.

I hope he never comes across the caf :nervous: Messi would start to doubt his choice of profession if it was down to us
