Has there been much of a fan backlash to their recent sales? Perhaps this is forcing them to take a hard stance to placate them.

I'm more of a mind to think that if it was anyone else they would accept a poultry figure but when United come a'nocking it's the old "we won't sell" act so we will pay over the odds. Comes with the territory...

They got close to €40m for Hummels and Mkhitaryan would be an even bigger loss for them. So even if it might be hard to believe for some they have their own logical reasons and United isn't the center of the universe in this case. ;)

It's all a game my friend, they will sell. United will sell, Madrid sell, Barca sell

Nothing to do with pride

That headline is very misleading. According to the article they quote the "heated argument" happened the week before last. They also claim that Tuchel is very determined to keep Mkhitaryan and has SMS contact with him and they mention an offer of €23m by United which has been turned down by Watzke. Other than that they write about how things went down when he left Donezk and show cases (namely Calhanoglu and Modric) where players tried to force a move.

Can't see Dortmund letting him leave on a free, that would be stupid, especially considering the Lewandowski disaster.

You realize Lewandowski played a great season with 28 goals and 14 assists that year (20+10 in 33 Buli matches and 6+4 in 9 CL matches) and was a huge help considering the team struggled with Gündogan's year long injury, Mats "I don't feel like playing football right now" Hummels and Mkhitaryan's trouble settling in?

Really hope we sign him, he could make a big difference for us. I'm starting to think its sounding less likely though. Dortmund dont usually go back on their word. Theyre not two faced like Real Madrid.

I don't think this is a matter of principle for Dortmund. The question for them is who they could buy with the fee they get from United.

Can't see him being at Dortmund next season unless one of Reus and Aubemeyang is leaving. Those two are good enough to lead their current team to second. The Dortmund board will realise that money now + no Mikitaryan next season is a better position than keeping him combined with the effect it has on their chances of winning the league.

I'm just wondering if Raiola's enthusiasm is caused by J.M. factor or it's just down to good, old paper.

Then there are tax matters to take into consideration. After the sales of Gündogan and Hummels the tax authorities are bounf to have a field-day if Mkhiraryan leaves as well.

Its pointless following many of these tweets - just wait for the deal to get done or not.

You're clearly not a transfer muppet like the rest of us, Raoul.

It's all about the chase!

Things are getting pretty messy over there I see. Raiola is a cnut even though he's on our side. Anyway, hopefully we get this one over the line soon.

So what about the times we have missed out due to 'negotiations' and then players get snapped up elsewhere for a couple of mill extra?

Its not coming out of your bank account so why are you so fussed? In the grand scheme of life it doesn't matter if United want to spend £1 or £10000000000000 on a player, its their money - for me i just want the players in, the money means nothing. Do you think Madrid fans say 'oh no we spent 63 mill on James, what a waste of money?' no, they just say 'he's cr*p, please leave, NEXT!'.
Probably why they're about £500m in debt .

Told you that Mino will go to great lengths to release Mkhitaryan

I'm beginning to like this Raiola guy.
Until he turned on your club again for his money. I meant Mendez at least try to keep good relationship with his clients and customers (Ronaldo, DDG signs extension after failed move). This Raiola guy has a cut throat approach for money (Pogba, Mkhitaryan move from Shakta to Dortmund and this). Both has the same end goal (their safe), this Raiola guy is more stressful to deal when it comes to try get his players to extend when the contract is due.

Dortmund can't really complain. They only signed him when he refused to go on pre season with Shaktar when they had a similar stance to Dortmund.
It's as clear as day to me that he'll get his move.
