Can a kind Cafe person sum up the latest on this or is purely just rumours? Who exactly has the official statement from his agent or is it just gossip?

He's agent has publicly come out and said that his client is not interested in a renewal and wants to join his "dream club".

Answer why is below.

Which is completely understandable.

It's quite pathetic the way that Bayern steal the best players from the only team that has anywhere near the capacity to compete with them.

Pathetic.

We will get our man. He has one year on his contract. BVB are not in a strong bargaining position.

We will pay roughly what Bayern paid for Hummels, I expect.
Steal ?? They are a bigger club, a better club and a richer club. I wouldnt mind if our club did the same. Sucks for a neutral I guess but to say its pathetic and that they steal players is well... highly inaccurate

Is it weird that I don't like Raiola or his actions despite the fact that I want the player to join? He needs to shut up and try to find a solution.

Not at all. Agents are leeches that should be bound by rules or caps. Reason the transfer market is in the shapes it's in now, and also Real Madrid.

This is a really weird situation. When and where did our interest in this guy come from, and have we actually made an offical offer?
I am not doubting that he is a good player, and that he would offer something to the team, but have the Club been tracking him, or the Manager, or is it just the Agent spoofing?

I like the idea of getting this guy. I think his agent will see to it that it happens. I am not worried about paying for him unless they are asking over 40 mill. I think that is his ceiling right now.

His agent came out and said that he will not renew with Dortmund, he wants to play for United and that our initial offer was rejected by Dortmund.

It is very possible that Mikhtaryan is a signing Jose was planning to make while managing Chelsea or a player that he scouted while preparing to take over United.

I would say it is highly likely that he scouted him heavily before signing on for United. I think he was photographed at 3-4 Dortmund matches from December and onwards. And since we haven't bid for anyone else from Dortmund I reckon it was M.Targaryan he scouted.

When was the last time a player came out and effectively said "I want to play for United" before actually signing?

Ok, so we have definitely made an offer and then the Agent started getting provocative?

I am just nervous that it is the Agent trying to stir this up, looking for a big pay day for himself and his client. Situations like that do not end well.

Absolutely. Tancredi was saying on Talksport this afternoon that Raiola wants 25m euros for himself in the Pogba to Madrid deal.

The agent is making noises to force Dortmund into a sale.

Even Dortmund's CEO has already come out and admitted that Micky won't sign a new contract.

We are definitely not being used this time

And yes we have made a bid. The agent even confirmed the exact amount.

Not shutting up and keeping the topic hot is his way of working towards solution.

That is good to know. There has been alot of messing around the last three seasons, and the last thing we needs is a stupid saga that never had a chance of succedding.

Mkhitaryan is plenty quick and skillfull enough to beat players.

We arent getting Bale and Miki is a far more talented and intelligent player than Mane will ever be.

Miki is a playmaker that can play from the right wing , has more than enough pace and technical skills. I dont see why he couldnt play with someone like Ibra, they would both search and find eachother and Ibra finish off the numerous chances Miki can and will create from the rightside.
He's a very intelligent player no doubt but IMO he relies on quick one-twos to get out of tight spaces more often than his dribbling ability, especially against quality opposition I haven't seen him take on a left back and beat him consistently.

He does like to dribble from wide to in-field from the right side. But in those scenarios I think he is benefitted by dortumund players who like to play on the shoulder and always threaten to run beyond defenders into open spaces, creating that space in the midfield in which Mkhi likes to runs into. Ibra given his age and playing style likes to take part in playmaking rather than running the channels and in-behind defenders, he prefers to come short and pull defenders out of position.

IMO its like having De Bryune in your team and playing him wide instead of through the middle.

Again, IMO he's a very intelligent player and I would love it if we sign him but not as a RW or a RF. We would need a player for that position whether we sign him or not.

His best performances come from central positions, not from the right - he dribbles much more and he is a real beast in counter-attacks when he is playing centrally. The reason he started more matches on RW last season is simple. In attacking trio behind Aubameyang, of Reus, Kagawa and him, he is best suited for that position.

Even this season, more of his goals and assists come from the left side. For Armenia, he always plays centrally.

The reason why his Whoscored ratings are best on the matches he was positioned as RW is simple - he often starts matches on that position, than tends to switch sides after 20-30min

Agreed. But I do think with Mata or Herrera playing as the #10 i.e players who will play those quick one-twos and will drift wide when he comes central, Mkhitaryan wide right could work. Of course, we would also have to make sure the tempo of the play remains high.

Ultimately, I'd like him at #10 and a pacy wide player who can consistently beat his full back wide right but I can't think of a player who is both good enough and available except maybe Sane (who's young so is always a risk in terms of how he develops) and Mahrez (may yet turn out to have been punching well above his weight). I'd love for us to take the chance on Nabil Fekir, play him #10, and Mkhitaryan wide right. Both are versatile and fast enough to play keep switching positions during the game. He's coming off a torn ACL though so would be a big gamble.

Martial - Mkhitaryan - RW (Rashford/Depay/new signing)
------Rooney - CM (Schneiderlin/new signing)

People would be happy enough with that? Embolo and Kante for the empty spots perhaps?

Edit: Fixed my line-up to the right number of players :o

I understand where you are coming from because that could be us in a couple of years he's mistreating or another of his clients we may pick up.

That's the thing. We had a similar-ish situation with De Gea last season and I just put myself in Dortmund's shoes. Modern football I guess.

I think his skill set is quite close to Januzaj. Take away Januzaj's weaknesses, add more polish and experience, and you might get a player like Mkhitaryan.

No cause that would mean 3 at the back mate.

Some agent's are more vocal than others but they all do the same. Whether they say it themselves or feed it to the media outlets. I'd still prefer the latter.

I think United should definitely go for Kante. looked good so far in Euros.

He's one of those players that if we sign, I pray we have a plan for how to get the best out of him. Rather than just stick him on the wing and hope for the best like with Kagawa.

Kagawa has since proven he's not that good

£28m sounds like a very fair price. Presumably the add ons will take the total to €40m or so.

Mind you it's the Mirror and it's written by some nobody so I'll take it with a pinch of salt. If we've made an improved bid I'm sure his agent will shout from the rooftops about it.

Can someone who has seen Henry Mikeryan play a few times please fill me in on him

Why is this 27/28 year old I have never heard of worth £30m+?

The Mirror isn't as bad as the Daily Mail but it's still not a good source, however this story does have some believability to it.
