But Mendes through his media connections made it known what De Gea's intentions where.

MK hasn't said anything either. He like David simply wants to change clubs .
Did he? It could have been all speculation for all we know, the fact is neither Mendes or De Gea made it clear that he wants to leave for Real Madrid.

Don't think his agent would claim we are his favored destination if this isn't further along that in appears....would be a bit egg on face to then rock up at Arsenal.

Micky is a very good player and i would love for us to get him, but i hate what's happening here. Dortmund is a great club and they have no obligation to sell him as they have a standing contract with the player. Now, these cruel agents swoops in and leaks out the news in the middle of the negotiations , hoping that the press and media coverage will force the hand of the club. They bring it to a state where the club realizes it's better to sell a unhappy player than to keep him. I know thats how modern football works , but what a cruel way to force your hand. This sounds like a Madrid type of transfer :(

That's the part and parcel of the game. It's very rare to see loyalty in football and I'm not talking only about players.

Fans expect players to be loyal and spend their best years at the club but when the player is not performing they can't wait to see player kicked out of the club, no matter where. Clubs want players to respect the contract but they kick them out when the player isn't performing.

Managers are the biggest hypocrites, they block the players move because they want players to respect the contract but when they get the chance to move to bigger club they don't think twice.

IMO there is nothing wrong with players moving the clubs if they think they can get higher pay somewhere else or think they can win trophies. Everyone (clubs, players, fans, managers) want what's best for them so not sure why only players are singled out when it comes to loyalty.

Clearly we're trying to have the team with the hardest to spell player's names in history. This guy, Ibra (:nervous:), BFS, Morgan, Fellaini et al

Exactly, it's as if RVP or Berbatov transfers never happened.

I am not so excited about signing Micky. I have a feeling that he won't be successful here. While i admit that i haven't seen him play as much as Mata, i feel he is best suited for Arsenal, not for United and Jose. Best suited for Arsenal means he won't be a consistent performer. More like a big game bottler. When i watched him play, i couldn't find that special thing in him.

It seems Micky is going to be direct replacement for Mata. In that case, we should be looking for an upgrade on Mata. Mata is better in terms of passing, taking free kicks and holding on to the ball compared to Micky, while Micky has got better dribbling skills and also is a better tackler than Mata. If you consider the overall qualities of both the players, It's hard to say who is the better player. We should be looking for someone who has got the abilities of Mata + a better tackler and a dribbler, ideally with some more pace.

In Jose's system, the defensive contributions from the midfielders are very important and this is the area where Mata lags behind. While Micky is better in terms of defensive contribution, i still don't see him very good at it. And then his vision and passing are not as good as that of Mata. So, yes, i am not very convinced.

And who is going to be our free kick specialist? Rooney? I want one of our new signings to be very good at free kicks and this is very important in PL, especially against the stubborn teams who fill their box in numbers.

I'm not trawling through 29 pages. Am I supposed to get excited about this prospect or not?
The player and agent seem desperate for it to happen. Crucially both clubs are still talking. So it seems Dortmund are a bit flexible.
Paul Hirst spoke to Raiola yesterday and Raiola is confident a deal will still happen.
So you can get excited.

You say you haven't seen much of him but then go on to say he'd suit Arsenal better. You have no idea how we intend to play. Mkhitaryan' best form has come from the right. Mata's best centrally. The mirror have an article saying Mourinho will give Mata a chance so there's no evidence he's a direct replacement.

Sounds like you are describing Mkhitaryan here. Also not sure why you think he's not good at defending as that's the opposite of what I've read and with the amount of assists he has I assume his vision and passing is just fine.

Also Ibrahimovic is good at freekicks

Yeah, it's sort of unfortunate how Riola has handled this, we'd be pissed off if an agent did that to one of our players. Sadly though, it's to be expected too. When a bigger club comes along, most players will do whatever it takes to move.

Whilst you're absolutely right, he's not saying Mkhitaryan should stay. He's just saying it's kinda sad how Riola has gone public with this and is playing it via the press now to force Dortmund's hand.

I think Messi is busy

Yeah I agree with that. I don't remember any transfer completed by English club where Agent said so much to the press. This is more of a Madrid and Barca route which I don't like.

Hopefully this is one off and we don't go that route to sign players.

None of those surnames you mention is particularly difficult. They're just long as feck.

Mkhitaryan on the other hand is a whole world of ridiculous.

There have been lots tbf. Sterling, rvp are just two recent ones.

You just said you've barely seen him play and then go into describe him as if you're an expert. I call bullshit

This guy is 27. Is he worth it?
He's coming off the best season of his career, he's in his prime with one year left on his contract meaning we can get him for around £28/9m, he's absolutely worth it. He'd add another dimension to our attack, which is already looking pretty good with Martial and Ibrahimovic.
