If he signs, I'll just refer to him as Mickey T.

Had to type that into Google images and look what came up. Looks a bit like Maradona!

There have been lots tbf. Sterling, rvp are just two recent ones.

RVP agent talked about ManUtd move? I don't recall him saying that. Also Sterling agent said player wants out but never mentioned any club name.

I could be wrong though.

Yeah, it's sort of unfortunate how Riola has handled this, we'd be pissed off if an agent did that to one of our players. Sadly though, it's to be expected too. When a bigger club comes along, most players will do whatever it takes to move.

Very true though. Wonder if there are any players out there who doesn't have agents like Scholes. Those players should be worshipped imho

I am not so excited about signing Micky. I have a feeling that he won't be successful here. While i admit that i haven't seen much of him, i feel he is best suited for Arsenal, not for United and Jose. Best suited for Arsenal means he won't be a consistent performer. More like a big game bottler. When i watched him play, i couldn't find that special thing in him.

It seems Micky is going to be direct replacement for Mata. In that case, we should be looking for an upgrade on Mata. Mata is better in terms of passing, taking free kicks and holding on to the ball compared to Micky, while Micky has got better dribbling skills and also is a better tackler than Mata. If you consider the overall qualities of both the players, It's hard to say who is the better player. We should be looking for someone who has got the abilities of Mata + a better tackler and a dribbler, ideally with some more pace.

In Jose's system, the defensive contributions from the midfielders are very important and this is the area where Mata lags behind. While Micky is better in terms of defensive contribution, i still don't see him very good at it. And then his vision and passing are not as good as that of Mata. So, yes, i am not very convinced.

And who is going to be our free kick specialist? Rooney? I want one of our new signings to be very good at free kicks and this is very important in PL, especially against the stubborn teams who fill their box in numbers.

"Haven't seen much of him"

Talks like an expert on how he won't suit us.
Come on bud.

There is and the player was hated by many. Antonio Valencia. IIRC he sacked his agent few years ago as he didn't want to move anywhere.

So, is then going to be the first player to leave BVB for a foreign club and not flop? Odds are against him but he does have decent ability with the ball so he might just work out. I am a bit 50/50 on this.

So basically you're inventing the rest of your post ?

Players who don't have agents are mad. Clubs are quick to move players on when it suits and when it comes to negotiations there's a blatant imbalance of power.

Agents are a necessary evil in football to stop players getting exploited.

Scholes was of a different era at a club where the manager had ultimate faith in him, and importantly total control at the club.

Football clubs have no respect for players they want rid, so I'm not too fussed.

You say you haven't seen much of him but then go on to say he'd suit Arsenal better. You have no idea how we intend to play. Mkhitaryan' best form has come from the right. Mata's best centrally. The mirror have an article saying Mourinho will give Mata a chance so there's no evidence he's a direct replacement.

My point was, i haven't seen him play as much as Mata. Sorry if i didn't express myself in the best way. Seems i have to edit it. Everyone is picking on that point.

And mate, you are quoting mirror? I not sure if Jose will give Mata one more chance to see the improvements in his defensive abilities. And in case if Mata is staying, i don't think he will be starter.

When a club hires a player, the player becomes a employee of the club. The employer is free to do what he want with the employee as long as it's within the regulations. What do you mean by getting exploited? The player is going to get paid either or not he's playing, where's the foul play here? If this was not a sport but a company , all these points sounds bizarre.

Yup, as the guy said, be it the players, clubs, managers or fans, everyone is selfish in wanting what's best for them so there's no reason to hold players to a different standard. It's just the press route being taken that's a bit pathetic.

most players are uneducated or barely educated and hardly can enter into contracts and stuff I suppose.

Sounds like you are describing Mkhitaryan here. Also not sure why you think he's not good at defending as that's the opposite of what I've read and with the amount of assists he has I assume his vision and passing is just fine.

Also Ibrahimovic is good at freekicks

I didn't say he is not good at defending. He is definitely better than Mata in that aspect. But may be not good enough. At least, not from what i have seen of him. Regarding his passing and vision, i think we could do with some one better than him. It's not going to be that easy for him in PL to keep up with those stats against quality defenders who are more organised and physical compared to Bundesliga.

Again, i am not saying that he is not good at all. But i think we could go for someone better than him.

Antonio valencia ditched his agent 3 years back, said he doesnt wish to leave united and trusts us when it comes to contracts.
And that was back when he was our poty

He's coming off the best season of his career, he's in his prime with one year left on his contract meaning we can get him for around £28/9m, he's absolutely worth it. He'd add another dimension to our attack, which is already looking pretty good with Martial and Ibrahimovic.
Great, that's what I want to hear! Don't watch much Bundesliga football so am relying on the judgements of others. At the price you mention it sounds like a fantastic deal.

Any suggestions?

Looks defensively ok to me. If he's not good enough defensively for you then I'd love to know who is?

Micky is a very good player and i would love for us to get him, but i hate what's happening here. Dortmund is a great club and they have no obligation to sell him as they have a standing contract with the player. Now, these cruel agents swoops in and leaks out the news in the middle of the negotiations , hoping that the press and media coverage will force the hand of the club. They bring it to a state where the club realizes it's better to sell a unhappy player than to keep him. I know thats how modern football works , but what a cruel way to force your hand. This sounds like a Madrid type of transfer :(

Every club does it really. Not always through the press, but all teams unsettle players and sound them out.

You just know Dortmund will make this absolutley impossible for us. They will not sell and let him go free next year, at which point he will probably join an other team :(

He is defensively better than Willian.

Just call him Mickey Ryan or Mickey Targaryen. Anyway, Mkhitaryan will be an very very good signing. Immensely productive and even the season before last when the whole of Dortmund suffered, it always seemed a question of confidence than anything else. His general play is extremely fluid and it might be just the way Dortmund plays that made it look great but so much better than a Mata.

How many players over the last few years have we seen articles about how they grew up loving Manchester United and people interpreted that as being a sure thing that the player will sign for us, only to see them within a few days sign with another club?

the more I think about him the more I like the idea of him joining us, if anything he works hard which is a good sing and can play different positions... and our super brand will expand to Armenia

It doesn't guarantee anything. Not sure why you quoted me though.

At 27 one would think he would be in his prime for the next 3-4 seasons. If we can get him in £20m-30m price range I would say it's a good deal. I am however skeptical after what happened with Kagawa.

Azpilicueta is better defensively while Messi is a lot better offensively.
