You gotta love the Glazers! Great bunchCan't wait to see all those lovely dividend payments go to the owners
The UEFA isn't a big boy, i kind of hope that you realize it, they have been blakmailed and caved at every turn for more than 30 years by the clubs that have now left. The UEFA is nothing economically without the popularity of the CL which has been destroyed by the ESL and in general they are nothing compared to JP Morgan or the other actors in the ESL.
The NWO Cup ?I know everyone's terribly excited about this banning business but National Teams don't need UEFA's blessing to compete in a World Cup or Euro Cup, they can simply create one that isn't affiliated to them.
Any reason why its worded like that ?
It does not matter who you think is a "big boy". This will come down to the law and UEFA/FIFA etc will use all lawful methods to stop this. That means, if lawful, they can cut out the clubs from all other competitions etc.
I do believe UEFA have enough money for some decent lawyers, don't you?
I'm sure a communistic league would go swimmingly!
No but its the biggest leverage FIFA/UEFA have. Players will be getting anxious now with Euros coming up and WC. Last for some. And in general, if you can only play in closed shop competition, then after a while the novelty will wear off. To get to the clubs is to sanction the players, unfortunately.I love all this talk about banning players and what not. As if they had any input in these decisions.
It is being bankrolled by JP Morgan.Without wishing to bash Americans here, this looks like a very U.S.-driven plan doesn't it. Regional competition with no threat of demotion or expulsion.
And in Florentino they've got the perfect puppet. Loves the glamour, hates Uefa... bet the Glazers and FSG love him.
Will be interesting where this ends. Imagine we'll see an end to transfer fees. Franchises? Wouldn't bet against it.
Fair comment.Yes, I've said this before but the reason I defended our club over ffp and thought ffp was a sham was because it was an attempt to stop us from getting lucky (which is what we did), so to see us try and do the same and prevent others clubs having the luck/success we have disgusts me. I'd give back every trophy since 09 in a heartbeat to have nothing to do with this. If my club don't come out soon and say "we fecked up" and walk away from this regardless of the punishments, I will walk away until the entire board and owners are removed.

1/10 for effort on the sign

ESL; english as a 2nd language.Any reason why its worded like that ?
Good to see. Hopefully more of this to come.
12 clubs seceding from the union! No they can't, FAs would have to leave the confederation and no FA, which in countries are directly linked to governements, will follow the money grabbers.
I bet Schalke fans would snap their fecking hand offTwitter is full of people actually believing the Postillon (German equivalent of The Onion) article about Schalke joining the Super League after Bayern, Dortmund, and Leipzig refused. Hilarious times, if it wasn't so infuriating

Nice guys finish last.So the top cats at UEFA and Super League club execs are now going at each other and revealing they aren’t all as nice as they come across. These are some big boys with serious power and connections.
As much as I'd like to see it happen, I can't see how UEFA or the PL could punish the clubs involved right away. They have only announced an intention, and haven't technically broken any laws or rules w/ respect to their actions.
Ah yes, the company that received the most bailout money in 2008 when they were one of the primary actors in crashing the global economy. If any company belonged in this shitshow it would be them.It is being bankrolled by JP Morgan.
Going through the thread now, so something might change in the next 60+ pages, but this would be fecking awesome. Even though I pretty much hated PSG until yesterday.

The governments have an option they just don't have the balls and are too bent to actually care. These football clubs are century old cultural institutions with generations of memories and sentimentality tied to them so an Act of Parliament could be passed banning foreign and corporate ownership of these clubs forcing these cnut owners to sell off to fans with the first priority obviously going to ST holders and club members. You can remove the titles but you can't erase the memories so that's pointless.
It's the owners that need removing but that's pretty much impossible to do, unfortunately we are one of the many groups of fans that have lost our club. United hasn't been a fans club for over 20 years but we still held on to some of our identity, today that identity and the history are in complete tatters as the Glazers finally get what they set out for from day one. The cash pig has potentially found them a bottomless pit, not content with a vast amounts of money made in the Premier League and Champions league they want their cakes and eat it.
I actually feel slightly ashamed at what has become of United, but part of me isn't surprised in the slightest. Liverpool on the other hand have been happy with how FSG have been running the ship so today has been like a hammer blow to the head for them.
