I'd give back every trophy since 09 in a heartbeat to have nothing to do with this. If my club don't come out soon and say "we fecked up" and walk away from this regardless of the punishments, I will walk away until the entire board and owners are removed.

Even if this results in a reorganised CL, its fecking scandalous that clubs who can't finish in the top 4 of their own league should be in the CL anyway. If any such arrangement has this in place they should be told to feck off. I for one love seeing some of the top clubs at the non big nations do well in Europe and hopefully we can get more clubs like Leicester in Europe as well.
The remaining 8 clubs that were thinking of accepting the spots will all be working on statements now on how they were always going to reject the proposal.
It's already been a success financially.

They didn't die to play in Europe, they died because the football league made them rush back from Europe or they'd face an automatic loss because the FL were insecure about English teams playing in another competition.

There's no threat of relegation and half the league qualify for the playoffs anyway after the tediously long and pointless group stage. There's not even any big variation in prize money for advancing further in the 'competition' compared to just competing.
Teams will treat it like the NBA regular season is treated. Half-hearted effort, star players resting, low intensity games.

I would say these are all calculated moves by these people.
It's an issue because it estranges the elite and near-elite clubs from European minnows who might otherwise be given the chance to qualify for an open competition whereby historical giant killings might occur.
If dough is the prerequisite for being a guest, then by its design punishes less financially capable European sides even if their performance merits their inclusion.

The UEFA isn't a big boy, i kind of hope that you realize it, they have been blakmailed and caved at every turn for more than 30 years by the clubs that have now left. The UEFA is nothing economically without the popularity of the CL which has been destroyed by the ESL and in general they are nothing compared to JP Morgan or the other actors in the ESL.
