Having a shocker of a season after being very good last season sadly. He's lucky we have no other fit fullbacks.

He has been overplayed though and is probably physically and mentally shot. Abject failure of recruitment not to bring in a new LB.
Same would apply to Bruno no? Nobody's hearing that though... it's just bad form guys

Remember Gerrard lifting a penalty over the bar away at Blackburn that cost Hodgson his job. At the time I remember saying he missed it on purpose because Gerrard always went low and hard with his penalties.

I'm sorry but Dalot has been shocking this season, constantly letting players get the run on him and then that miss yesterday. He didn't even look remotely bothered either which says a lot. I'm not saying he's blatantly missed it but if a player is half arsed and not bothered this stuff happens.

Footballers now control the managers position, Rashford walked round that pitch yesterday like he didn't want to be part of the game.

Certain players had given up, totally given up for their manager. I wanted him gone so it's not an issue but these players that did it need selling asap because they are part of the problem.

I think he’s getting way too much stick for that miss (not for the failing to track back, which is really poor). There’s at least one West Ham defender running back in with the likely intention of sliding towards the near post. The pussy option would have been to hit it low towards the goal. It’ll very likely get blocked but he wouldn’t get much criticism for that. He went for the difficult option- unsaveable at that height and speed if it’s on target. I think it’s unfair to criticise. Far far better players than him have got underneath a bouncing ball and missed.

Dalot is not good enough to miss on purpose.

He's been poor this season, very inconsistent, whilst also showing a little of the qualities that we saw from last season. However, if Amorin comes in, it could be massive for Dalot. As a RWB or even as the third CB, he's tailor made for this. It's fair to question his attacking productivity but at RWB, his main role will be providing width, overlaps, pressing, holding the ball, carrying it in open space and keeping defensive shape i.e all things he can do a high technical and physical level.

I can accept his miss which he should be scoring but I swear nearly every game he is losing his man and we’re conceding the same goal with him holding his arm in the air apologetically, I understand we’re struggling with rb/lb but surely this needs to be addressed it’s becoming a joke.

Very good assist. Somehow got into an offside position once. Was poor defensively

He was so bad for so much of that match. Weird player. When he’s not 100% on it he’s an absolute shambles.
Yeah it’s either all or nothing unfortunately, always looks like there’s a player in there but he’s just never pushed on towards world class.

Man Utd 1:1 Chelsea New
Another questionable performance against Chelsea. His lack of defensive awareness is shocking. As the ball drops to caicedo watch Dalot move to his left to give him a clear shot at goal.

Needs to watch Maz and how effective he's been, don't think he's had a bad game yet

I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. I do also think we're asking too much of him. We're trying this same move where Rashford pulls deep and Dalot is on the last line with every game now. One game we ask him to stay back like today, the next he is overlapping, the next he is inverting. Some games he does all of these.

Don't think he has the defensive reading skills to play RCB, so he's probably got to be turn himself into a quality wingback under Amorim, and maybe him being a fullback type means we can go extra attacking at LWB (Garnacho, new signing, Amass, lots of options here, Antony even if you're a sicko, Mantato eventually if he makes it as my understanding is he is supposed to be Saka/Bale-esque in terms of positions as an RW/LWB type positionally).

Bit more reserved than usual today, he didn't seem to trust his abilities on the half turn and avoiding the press which he's usually very good at. Think the confidence has taken a knock after the West Ham miss and probably being a bit knackered from playing every game this season, but he was ok nonetheless.

Ball watching for their goal, but ok for the rest of it. Around the 80th mark he was in a foot race with Mudryk and was at least as fast. Great top speed, but often poor awareness. Enigma of a player.

Did he get forward at all during the game? I don't remember any overlapping runs which is supposed to be one of the advantages of playing him on the right. Mazraoui overlapped more on the other side.

There was a moment that Dalot looked a bit slow to me in a race with Neto. It suprised me because Dalot is very fast. Maybe he has poor awareness because he can still recover because of his speed.

It’s all about awareness and intensity. At the beginning of the match he easily outpaced Neto; for acceleration, Neto is probably quicker though. The issue with Dalit is that sometimes he can show great intensity and decent awareness. When that intensity drops, he becomes a defensive liability.

Just checked on Transmarkt and the last time he missed a game for us was 23rd Dec last year due to suspension. Since then he's been involved in 48 games for us playing the full 90 in 46/48 games.

This season he's played in every single game for the full 90 bar Barnsley where he went off in the 63rd min.

Wouldn't be surprised if he's shattered.

Yeah this is where I am with Dalot. He's been poor and inconsistent this season with some uncharacteristic mistakes or issues. He still has credit in the bank for me but it's depleting fast. Hopefully Amorin coming in will settle him because he needs it.

He’s been doing it throughout his career with us. He just doesn’t have the benefit of Onana/Maguire being his scapegoat this season.

He still has lapses in concentration.

IF he sorts that out he has all the ingredients to be a top full-back..

This season thus far his form has been too up and down for me.

Man Utd 2:0 PAOK FC New
Dalot's awful season continues. As soon as we have some proper left backs available, Dalot's destiny is to be benched.

Not a left back, so I don't think it's fair to call him out. Him and Mazraoui could make for great cover on the right, assuming there ever is a natural left back available in this club.

Not a right back either.

He's not good enough.

Commentator said he played (or possibly started) 64 of our last 67 games.

Which on the one hand, great. It's nice to actually see a durable player in the squad. But on the other hand, he shouldn't be playing that often.

Same goes for Bruno

Yeah, he's apparently started our last 43 games in a row. He could probably do with a bit of a rest.

People have short memories. Dalot was arguably player of the season last year (yes, poor season overall). The problem is playing him on the left.

It was one season. In a season we were dreadful and the bar to be best player was about an inch off the ground. People with longer memories will also remember he was shite before that too.
