Can't play LWB to save his life.

This blind, no look pass into the centre he continues to do is utterly infuriating.

Play him on the right, or don't play him.

People are a little harsh here, but its very very clear he should never ever play on the left unless its against Alexander Arnold. The best thing we can say about him is that he's so woefully out of his depth there, but tries his best as he keeps being put there. He actually had a decent season last season on the right and is a more than capable right back or deputy right sided player. This has to stop. He cannot play on the left and its killing that side of the team.

His own form has suffered massively due to playing on the left for 1.5 seasons now basically. Was hoping that has signing a left back would push him to the right but I guess not

He’s only had 1 good game under Amorim and that was more due to Alexander-Arnold’s deficiencies. Growing up watching Sharpe and Giggs it is so painful seeing him in the left flank. At one point in second half he had the ball in the box with Garnacho overlapping and he passed it back to Bruno in a completely non-threatening position.

As bad as he has been… the manager has to take some of the blame.

Tonight proved that the inverted wing backs is intentional.

There is something that he prefers about that shape. I for the life of me can’t figure out what the hell it is he sees in it.

But he hasn’t at any point in any game so far had a left footer at LWB and a right footer at RWB.

I was convinced it was just down to lack of squad options…. But today he had all the options he could possibly want, and still went double inverted.

It’s got to the point where he’s being done a disservice. He can’t play the role and he knows he can’t play the role. His confidence is in the bin, which isn’t very helpful when you consider his footballing IQ has always been lacking.

Like Mazraoui, he’d work well as the RCB in this system. He’s great in the air, physical, good on the ball. But none of that is really helpful when he’s receiving the ball on his right foot and being forced to hopelessly kick it inside or back to the LCB.

Dalot is a decent right back, but he has no business starting in this system as he currently is.

Dalot was quite good for the final half an hour. His movement and runs played a part in us really starting to stretch Leicester's defence, and once he got into those areas he generally played it short and smart to others to make the final ball. Which is better than him wasting the ball, even if we'd prefer he'd play good balls in himself.

But for the first 60 minutes he wasn't providing anywhere near enough when we had possession. Wouldn't have helped that he had Mainoo doing basically nothing ahead of him, but Dalot still needs to be willing to run the ball down the line himself instead of passing it backwards every time. He's got the pace and power to go past players and he's shown it at times, but he needs to do it much more often. It is harder to do on his wrong side, but certainly not impossible.

Tottenham 1:0 Man Utd New
Ole sent him on loan to Milan 5 years ago. He wanted rid yet here we are with him in the first team and we also gave him a new contract in that time. What a farce.

Has there been a player who can play as shit as him and never get benched or even subbed? He must have a spell that he applies on managers.

He is one strength! He is dereli injured

Otherwise it’s sad to see him play on any of the wings. Not good enought in atrach and not good enough in positional play. Nefes to be upgraded ASAP. İs on relative ly low wages and has a market so should be easier than some others in the team to sell and get a profit in

He seems unable to understand the wing back role. We should cash in on him. I am sure he can fetch 40 millions. He is a far better RB than WB.

At least we know it's not because he is being played out of position, he really is that bad.....
He's crap but he's far less damaging to us on the right than on the left so he needs to be kept there forever. If he's put back on the left our season is totally fecked.

There will be people who disagree with me, but he is quietly one of our bigger problems. When was the last time you saw him take on a defender, get a half yard of space, and successfully deliver a cross?

He'll get the ball in acres of space from a switch, do some stupid stepover, and then play it back into midfield without attempting to take on his man. Probably thinks to himself, "alright that's my job done."

With Amorim insisting on his 3-4-3, he's not fit for purpose.

3:00

Not only that the teams so often try these long passes behind him even though he is quite quick but for some reason he is always second to them, but few seconds later look how far he stays in front of the forward, just look at that defending, and he does that all the time.

So he had a game in his supposed better position and looked just as shocking as always. He is the most nothing player in the league.

If someone offered 40m give or take we’d be crazy not to take it. Really not convinced by him as a wingback, he should get more opponents the right now not today wasn’t a good start.

Most of the talk of him being misused on the left side was hopeful thinking. He never showed anything to indicate that he anything more than average in terms of attacking output, I'd personally say even a little less. He might have some qualities on the ball but they are certainly not translating to being a dangerous attacking outlet. Such a player would always struggle as a wingback, it was clear from the start. And while at it, I am pretty sure it would be the exact same thing with Shaw, wouldn't he be constantly out anyways.

He derails every single attack on whatever side he plays.

He cannot play wingback at all.

On top of that - he's quite a shocking defender as well. Always looks like he has a mistake in him.

Model professional by all accounts - can see he grafts hard and is willing - he's just not a very good footballer.

Would make a decent FB in a European league - just not good enough for the levels of the prem

He’s simply too bad on the ball and too daft in his decision making to play for this club.

He was awful yesterday, he had so much space to create something and would put in a crap ball or just turn back to pass

He did fine with what he was asked to do.

What was he asked to do? Whatever it was, it did little to help our situation. Dalot saw a lot of the ball down his side and he was a liability in possession.

This is part of the problem we have is we've overall become accustomed to subpar individual performances from him. Have we forgot what a regular starting fullback at United should be providing? Does Dalot come close to meeting that standard?

Surely it has to be tactical that we always play time and time again on his side, as if he is our best asset attacking wise, it’s laughable really. His lack of quality in the final third is killing us even though he gets into good positions.

Again he is doing a job for now and we are stuck with him until the end of a season but I’m not sure about him long term…

I didn't think he was good yesterday, i didn't think Maz was great either in the CB role sadly, and i've been wanting him to play there again.

Another player who looks like he's being asked to play 4D chess out there. He'd do well at a club with a simple properly thought-out game plan.

Alright Gary, just completely ignore that he's been crap all season under both managers if it suits your narrative.

What the "narrative" of my view based on what I've seen? OK genius.
