Mad that he has a premier league winners medal and still puts up gobshite performances like this for us. Absolutely zero composure and character.

That said if he had Varane and Martinez infront of him he would have performed better, i am certain of it.

His shite kicking almost got us into trouble vs Barcelona and Betis.

Tonight he went one better and his all round game was fecking appalling to make sure we got eliminated.

He's such a liability in big games, he shrinks.

Depressing he's getting a new contract.

Someone said to me that he would be fine with us going into next season with him provided we get a top striker, I just don’t think I could ever agree. Time to get rid.

This guy is an absolute waste of space. Anyone still defending him now is stuck in the dark ages

Okay. Hands up, I defended him in the past. Thought we could get another year or two out of him and focus on other areas for transfers but just rip the contact up and save the wages. That triangle of him, Maguire and Lindelof have to go no matter what, it’s a mentality thing at this point.

OK this is going to be...awkward...but I think tonight I've reached the end with DDG. I've been a big fan from the start but his deficiencies and brainfarts are coming to the fore too much these days. If ETH insists on playing out from the back it's clear DDG can't be the goalkeeper in that system.

It's hard because his high points have been so spectacular and his numbers actually good this year. However, the constant cockups and the other little oddities he always had are never going away and he's demonstrated in the biggest matches can be when they are most likely.

At this stage I think it's best he parts ways and we get on with instilling a more suitable one ASAP. I think it's best to try avoid all that mucking about trying to ease someone in or have two 1st choices competing.

Absolutely awful. Even if we consider the last goal a freak mistake he should have saved the header easy.

Needs to be binned. He isn't a winner he is a loser and as long as we keep rewarding that he will drag us down.

His first mistake this season, no?

I think people should calm down a bit. For the first goal, Maguire is signalising that he wants the ball, gets it and 0-1. Ten Hag should actually take responsibility for the first goal, when the game plan obviously was to play out from the back at all cost.

One of the most diabolical two legs of football I think I've seen from a keeper in European football. Certainly at this level anyway, the knockout stages of a major competition. There's probably something worse in the Qualifiers for the Conference League.

Any goal keeper from the cham, pionship can do what he does. He's also over 30, he'll get worse

Great shot stopper
Terrible On crosses
Terrible on pens (as bad as anyone in the top two leagues in England, never ever looks
Like saving one)
Terrible on the ball and almost always concedes a chance when trying to play even basic lofted passes out from the back.

I think we need a new keeper!

Spanish press must wonder why we pay their 5th choice goalkeeper so much

Good on you identifying that he’s not good enough.

He's mentally weak, really crumbles at the first sight of pressure. But other than that, dude is poor with the ball, has no command inside the box. VDS used to make coming up to catch crosses so simple we barely noticed how much is it a required skill it was, but that doesn't exist with De Gea. He's a great shot stopper, but I'd take a dependable keeper who can get the basics right over him any day of the week. We shouldn't renew his contract, even though we probably will.

We all know Maguire is way too confident in his own non-ability. De Gea should’ve known that passing to the man with the worlds worst first touch when marked by 3 rabid dogs, may have been a bad idea.

How many times do we have to watch this before the penny drops.

The guy is a nervous wreck in big games.

We'd be fecking bonkers to offer him a 50% reduction. He's not worth 10% of what he's currently earning. Should let him walk
Oh I agree. I’m just going on what I’ve heard, hasn’t he actually rejected our first offer?

Yeah, if that's the first time you have watched Manchester United his season.

I now really dislike Dave. ☹️

Shame, as he’s been a good servant, but it is clear progress is being stalled by his glaring inadequacies. No conviction, no leadership, weak mentality, terrible distribution. He strikes fear into our own defence!

Finding a replacement in the summer is key to our future success. Can only hope we get a new owner rich enough not to be perturbed by Dave earning a fortune while sat on the bench seeing his contract out.

I’ve back him the best I can for too long. What a fecking disgrace!
Guy should be ashamed of himself.

Cut loose and get him off the wage bill.

where's the white text

Fergie did it with Jim Leighton in 1990, it’s time to do that with De Gea, cut ties his time at the club is up.?

Ten Hag should have known that, insisting on playing out from the back. All Maguire needed to do, was playing it back to De Gea.

Even the man himself thinks it's time for us to move on

He's a goalkeeper who only does about 30% of what actually good goalkeepers do and he's not even that good at the 30% anymore. The whole defence is a bundle of nerves with him, that only being exacerbated by Maguire and Lindelof also being so on the edge, and we desperately need to find a new goalkeeper who can actually command his area and distribute with a level of authority.
