Copa America 2024 - Argentina Win

I've only watched him against the US, Considering he's a defensive player I reckon you'll find his agility and basic ball control in tight spaces adequate.
That's the thing I noticed when watching him at youth level. He was very press resistant, which is why I likened him to de Jong. He played as a deep lying playmaker. However, since moving to Europe, it seems he's become more of a box to box ball winner who is there to compliment a DLP rather than be the DLP himself.

Interesting. Probably because his passing doesn't seem very good. As in, he's okay keeping it simple but he does have a wayward pass in him. Reminds me of a modern Casemiro.

Some proper shithouse football so far in this Brazil / Uruguay match.

Start-stop-start-stop-repeat

This competition is generally 10x more entertaining than the Euros. Tuned in initially to check out Ugarte and now just hooked on it.

It has been more entertaining across the board. It’s just the start of this match has basically just been Uruguay trying to kick Brazil off the pitch.

I heard they are using smaller pitches, it might have something to do with it.

Rodrygo is a very weird player. He's moderately important for a very strong Madrid side and for Brazil, and yet I can't recall ever watching a game where he did anything of note.

You should have watched the games with teams like Venezuela in them…. If players from your club are in then you just hope they survive.

Ugarte does seem like an impressively physical presence in midfield

Ref should be dishing out yellows for all the professional fouls to improve the fluidity of the match. We could have had at least 4 yellow cards per team by now.

this game is one hack and foul after another which makes it all that more intriguing

Elano, Felipe Melo and Gilberto Silva looked like prime Tiki Taka Barça's compared to the current midfield.

Truly amazing that Brazil has this game’s first yellow

I somehow missed every Venezuela game with random life stuff.

Ehh, a certain club semi final a few years ago?

I love this referee. It also helps how crazy he's making the Brazil manager go

Been watching the match in the fan zone on copacabana beach. Surprised at just how poor the quality is on show given the players.

Endrick standing over him pretending to hide his smug satisfaction was quite entertaining
Seems like an annoying little shit that kid

Not really. The first yellow should have been for a foul on Pellistri earlier on.

Agree the offence getting the first yellow was just the entire half's standard tactical foul fodder from both.

It's always a choppy game like that with Brazil lately.

He's already so confident and mouthy. Literally taking the ball off his teammates during a counter, telling teammates off for allowing the opposition to win a header from a corner, always in the refs ear. He's something else!
