Maybe, maybe not. Take a look at Suárez' assists this season... he made 21 by Opta criteria, but like 6 or 7 of them are fortunate bounces, deflections, miscontrols by him that fell into Neymar or Messi's path.

di Maria's frequently been coming into central areas to get involved. He really doesn't like to be on the left flank.
Messi probably scores that for Barça, really shows how he's a confidence-finisher... and it's clear to see there's less of that (confidence) for the NT than for club, for whatever reason.
