It's a poor decision given we are still in a couple of competitions, but ultimately the decision will hinge on a) is he going to be the difference between winning the Europa League; and b) will a loan where the benefiting team pay very little signal to him that he's completely done here.

I can't think of too many high profile players that are unceremoniously turfed out on loan for little to no financial benefit, that end up staying the following season (whereas players regularly play a bit part role from the bench earning an order of magnitude more than they contribute).

I have never been the biggest fan of Casemiro (not even in his Real days) and could not stand the deal when we brought him in. That being said I don't understand why we are not using him more as we anyway have to pay him. Him and Ugarte in front of the CBs looks the most solid to me against better midfields. Mainoo is not ready or better in a more advance role and Bruno is not good enough.
Casemiro oddly is also one of our biggest goal threads whenever on the pitch. That does not say much with us creating nothing, I know.
And he seems to be happy with a part time role.

Must be worth a run out as the middle CB in the back 3. Certainly reads the game well and his passing would be an improvement on what we have seen from Maguire and DL

A bit surprised he has not featured more under Amorim since the Newcastle match. If paired next to Ugarte, he might actually solidify the middle a bit and also provide a bit more of an attacking impetus.

I think Amorim's team selection is very heavily aligned to the finances. Pretty sure SJR has told him he needs rid of Rashford and Casemiro ASAP or no new funds.

Surely from a leadership veteran perspective we should keep him no?
He's been here for the two years where this team looks like it's leaderless on and off the pitch. God knows what sort of leader he is, if that's been the end result. The notion he's a good leader because he was part of a very successful real side.

De Ligt was captain of Ajax at 19. He is a good leader but I'm not sure he is a certain starter in the future. Ruben prefers quicker more agile defenders e.g. Maz, Yoro.Heaven, Dorgu
