I'm going to get flak for this one.

His passing and set piece threat were brilliant. The passing however is inconsistent game to game. When he's feeling it, they come off and when he's off his game .. well you have Liverpool. Set piece threat is pretty consistent.

He still lost a lot of his mobility and when we go man to man on the press, it's less than a 50-50 if he wins his duel or not. The attacker usually gets past him fairly easily and Leicester did on a few occasions today.

When we're back on rest defence deep in our half he's again mostly alright but I still keep expecting him to give away a foul when defending out wide.

I guess tl;ldr he's currently more similar to a guy like Tielemans than a normal DM for me. I know it's an extreme comparison but making it to illustrate a point. He's obviously better than Tielmans defensively. Serviceable rotation option, especially paired with some legs in Ugarte.

Pretty much the whole starting 11 was world class. Casemiro was the best CDM in the world for a few years.

Prime Keane or prime Casemiro would’ve struggled in that system, absolutely impossible job.

Outside of Mazraoui, I'd say he's got as good and argument as anyone else in the team.

Onana's been our most consistent player all things considered but Case has definitely stepped up lately.

United might not have any world class players but the squad has decent quality and decent depth.

Something EtH was very stubborn and refused to utilise more imo.

Casemiro won’t be able to play 90 minutes 2-3 times a week, but he can still offer a lot, just need to manage his minutes and play him slightly higher up the pitch.

Ugarte was a great partner for him tonight.

Mainoo ain't coming back anytime soon if Case keeps up at the level of performance from tonight.

I would much prefer Casemiro over Mainoo right now. I think Mainoo has a very high ceiling but he doesn't really provide anything to our midfield at the moment. I think he's quite overrated on current ability personally. Tidy play and some nice touches but he's been pretty poor at progressing the ball forward and often plays the safe option. Again, the potential is there but I don't see enough from him yet.

Not for me, its hardly an outlandish statement to suggest Casemiro has been our best performer. Mazraoui has had a lot of 6 out of 10s not any 8s and a few 7s. Case has had more 7s and 8s and that 1 stinker v Liverpool.

Personally I think Eriksen and Onana have probably been better, however, Casemiro should have about 7 assists at this point and I think people overlook how many times he's played our forwards in only for them to mess it up.

I don't rate Casemiro's performances as highly as you do. An absolute shocker against Liverpool, a few very average games and a few good/very good games too. Generally very mixed.
