Brexited | the worst threads live the longest

Do you think there will be a Deal or No Deal?

  • Total voters
    194
  • Poll closed .
No outcome of this vote will be good. If we get a cnut like Boris or Raab in charge...

All of these brexiteers are complete cowards look at JR Mogg already saying he wouldnt run for Parliament. How can these people continuously get away with this crap.

So they are backing May so that she can go back to the EU so she can renegotiate, which the EU won't do.

But even if the EU bowed down and agreed unilateral withdrawal from the backstop, the agreement still wouldn't pass through parliament.

What a kerfuffle.

Would be a pretty bloody nose for her.

We got any bets on the number of Tory votes against May? I will go for a relatively sedate 78.
Even fewer. 65.

Will any abstain?

I think this is a move that the Brexiteers make purely because they have to, and can point back to this time at the next leadership election? Still, no-one wants to poison their future by being associated with Brexit, so they’ll let May fight this on her own, though they have to look to be fighting her as she does it.

I just don’t understand.

Maybe I’m too much of a logician, but surely there’s some joined up thinking here?! The Brexiteers must have realised by now that there’s no happy ending for them if they take charge of negotiations. The only situation I see that satisfies all parties is that they pretend to struggle, May’s deal eventually gets through, she then falls on her sword and everyone can spend the rest of the their careers pretending they could have “done Brexit better”.

David Davis is already playing that card after spending 18 months in charge of negotiations.

have the votes of the secret ballot already been counted?
Who knows what the exact process is, but given that only 300-odd people vote in a two hour time frame, nothing to stop Brady and his bods counting the votes as they come in.

i suppose, just that you see so many different numbers been thrown around on the twittersphere

Where does 86 rank in the scale of ‘rebellion crushed’ to ‘government in collapse’? I don’t really understand how people have judged this.

50-75 huge win for may
75-100 what is roughly expected and a strong win
100-125 a win but a major worry for her
125-157 and it would be hard to see her survive even though its Technically a win

It's not a win. Anything more than 60 and she will probabky lose a labour motion.

So May could resign if she only won by only 4% of the vote after spending a year negotiating a brexit she doesn't want because leave won by 4% of the vote.

Makes as much sense as any of it I suppose.
