Get in.I’m not what they want but I’ll be what they need
Good luck changing people's minds like that. I'm sure some just don't care what happens to the country but 17m people, some will have believed what they were told. An get should be directed at those who misled people, not those who fell for a con.
The irony is people not understanding basic ideas. Like the
fact my post has nothing to do with changing people's minds but identifying the folly of their choice and the reasoning behind it. Now there is irony for you.
Is he benevolent?
Stephen Barclay appointed new Brexit secretary
Stephen Barclay, a health minister, has been appointed Brexitsecretary, replacing Dominic Raab.
Barclay, who is not exactly one of better known members of the government, is a former Barclays Bank director who was elected MP for North East Cambridgeshire in 2010. He voted leave.
I refer you to my response to the exact same misunderstanding from another poster despite me making it crystal clear I was not out to change anyone's mind.:
Not sure why people thought I was trying to change peoples minds. Their minds are made up and they have dug their heels in and would vote the same again given the chance which numerous people have stated on here. I am not interested in changing their minds because it would be a wasted effort given that despite all the "revelations" which were obvious to everyone and anything, aside from boulders perhaps, that the so-called benefits of leaving were complete guesswork at best and utter lies for the rest.
It is also amusing that also saying that people will ignore what I said and talk about how this won't change their minds. If people can't pay attention to simple things like this then what hope is there!!
The more I see of Theresa May the more I wonder how she got there. She obviously wouldn't have been voted in as she's about as confident and convincing as a goldfish, but she must've worked her way up to near that point somehow. I thought a huge part of being a politician was about debating and public speaking. She's awful at it, even without an audience in person. I wouldn't trust her to run me a bath, nevermind run the country.
"err er y..yes it's d..ready" "it's freezing cold Theresa"
What even is May's deal anyway?
If she's late delivering your pizza, you get it for free. What even is May's deal anyway?
As home secretary she promised to reduce immigration. Failed.
As PM she promised all the good stuff we brexiters voted for. Failed.
Even now she's saying she's delivering on brexit
Deluded.
I've been very critical of her in the past but I've found new respect for her over the past couple of days. I honestly thought her red lines were incompatible with any deal with the EU so credit to her for finding one that she is willing to defend. Despite the rather sad picture she tends to make she does have some staying power, there might be more substance behind her than transpires through the telly (I thought she'd be gone within a week after the election tbh, proved me wrong). The more I see of Theresa May the more I wonder how she got there. But then again I am on the remain side of things and I don't believe that remaining itself is a viable option anymore so this is the closest it's going to get. I find myself in the strange position of being on her side for once.
UnicornsWhat was it you voted for that she is not delivering on?
It beggars belief who would vote for her doesn't it.Just caught up with last night's Question Time.
What a incredulous twat Claire Perry is.
Fair enough. No one is really trying to change peoples minds here are we? Its shouting into the void. It would be wasted time. There are plenty of people out there though who would and probably have changed their minds based on how things have gone since the ref. Pointing and calling them idiots helps no one. Some will be idiots naturally, who just want to win, no matter the cost, but some have believed the lies and its those who remainers should be targeting.
No unicorns then.

We need someone to start a poll thread about what they think is the most likely outcome.
Mays clusterfeck deal, a revised deal, no deal, no brexit. I would do it but I don't know how to do polls.
I reckon May's deal will go through. Its been made abundantly clear that no one wants to take charge and be responsible for brexit. So it will stumble over the line by virtue of no one making a credible attempt to stop it.

That’s my view too. The ‘brexiteers’ in high level politics don’t have the bottle to take the reigns and enact a no deal. I’ve been convinced of that for a long time.
Baker reckons some haven't put their letters in yet because they have to tell their constituency parties first, and they meet at weekends. Monday/Tuesday will be the test I suppose.https://www.theguardian.com/politic...to-have-sent-a-letter-of-no-confidence-in-may
Have they got the 48 letters or not?
Will they even get them?

I was watching a Question of Sport last night and it struck me that Theresa May looks like if Sue Barker died and was taken to a dodgy taxidermist.
What she looks like is irrelevant.
If May survives this I look forward to her Father Ted speech in Parliament.
"and now...we move on to Liars!"
Irrelevant to what? Discussing how much being Prime Minister looks to have taken its toll on her is not unreasonable conversation.
If we must have Brexit BINO is the best type of Brexit.BINO. Brexit in name only, but keep it quiet.
