Has she ever had an objectively fine night - or day - in politics?

Her first speech as PM gave a false ray of hope when she talked about helping the 'just getting bys' etc. Sadly that hope of a surprisingly progressive Tory administration soon disappeared as this whole shitshow unfolded.
The swastika courtsey was something.

Get one of his friends wives pregnant as a celebration

I’m not sure he wants this now. Boris is forever playing the long gamoe, never sticking his neck out. This will bring the focus back on him.

I reckon he’d prefer to drag this out till the negotiations with EU fall apart and then blame it on May and try to force her to resign while also getting a de facto hard Brexit

I'm sure he would but his hand has been forced. He cant blame it on May if he doesn't stage a challenge now. He either has to get behind a soft brexit or be responsible for a no deal brexit.

May writes that she is sorry to hear of Davis's resignation when so much progress has been made towards a “smooth and successful Brexit".

Here is a thought...given the age demographics isn't it possible that a chunk of leavers are now dead and their grand kids fired up enough to vote remain? (I recall seeing the youth vote was pro remain but sat on their hands and stayed home like a bunch of numpties.)

Will be interesting to see who she now puts in charge of negotiations... Hard to imagine any pick that won't be divisive and "unnacceptable" to one side or the other...

I imagine there will now be a scramble between mogg, Davies and johnson (and Gove?) To be the defacto leadership challenger to may...

It's gonna get messy with plenty of shit slinging from all sides

Is this the next step in a series that brings JRM to the front of the queue to become PM? Davis resigning makes Boris and Gove look bad by their lack of association. No doubt they'll come out with the line that they were standing together with May for the good of the country, now is not the time for division but unity etc. etc. but I'm sure many will see their decision to toe the line as career-driven rather than one motivated by principles.

I wouldnt want to step into the PM role right now.
Actually thinking about timelines...
Leadership contest in the conservative party (at least a month or two)... the General election (three months) probably guarantees a hard brexit as it takes us past the timeline for any deal to be ratified across the eu...
Yeah I'm fairness I think whoever is pm if that happens will pretty much be gone before the end of 2019...
It's a strange and scary world where the best chance of any deal with the eu is the maybot

Boris will now have to resign from cabinet if he is to be leader of the rebels ending his decade long Tory leadership plan. I reckon he will show his true colours and back down. There is likely to be a referendum on BREXIT now so god knows what will happen then. Possibility of no BREXIT?

I think Davies fancies the job himself...
Johnson probably thinks staying loyal (But blatantly being unhappy about it all) is a better way to win votes from party loyalists ?

But Davies mogg Johnson gove even fox and ledsom... it's gonna be a battle to become the chosen one to take on may... (I guess it will happen soon to try and have it out of the way before conference at the end of september)
