To be fair to them; nobody told them that there would be all these issues. The best that the Remain camp could come up with was white noise and Project Fear.

Brussels says plan to extend Brexit grace period breaks international law


In a damning statement, Maroš Šefčovič, the vice-president of the commission, said a move announced by Northern Ireland secretary Brandon Lewis to exempt goods coming from Great Britain from checks amounted to a “violation” of the withdrawal agreement.

“This is the second time that the UK government is set to breach international law,” the statement said. “This also constitutes a clear departure from the constructive approach that has prevailed up until now.”


Trade and Co-operation Agreement not yet ratified by the EU. No trade deal still possible.

Quite right though. What right do the Europeans have to tell us what we can and can't do? We're an independent nation - get over it! And as in independent nation we're no longer tied down by bullying Brussels bullies. We only signed that deal so we could get out quickly. It doesn't mean anything. Has anyone got any earplugs?

Loyalist group withdraws support for Good Friday Agreement

A group which includes representatives of loyalist paramilitaries has written to the prime minister to withdraw its support for the Good Friday Agreement.
The Loyalist Communities Council (LCC) said it was temporarily withdrawing its backing because of concerns about the Northern Ireland Protocol.

The last so called 'deal' was a decoy, something strung together to rescue both sides, it always going to be 'bent or broken', as and when, because both sides are still intent on giving each other a 'kicking'.

The 'tit for tat' will go on for a while yet, especially as everyone seeks to recover from Covid; whether its vaccine's going one way or sea-food going the other. A transient period of adjustment in trade and other areas (knock-ons) will be in place for a while yet before a steady state is achieved. As with all such turmoil there will be winners and losers and with most situations... first up best dressed, will apply.

It's not an immature take but an ignorant one, I'm not saying it as an insult but that's what it is. The current issues that the UK have exist for pretty much every none EUCU/EEA countries and also apply to EUCU/EEA countries when they trade with other trade zones. International/interregional trades require lots of paperwork and in the case of sea-food you need to either prove that they have been harvested in none polluted waters or purify them before export; the UK happens to not have enough facilities to purify the volume of polluted sea food that they used to export to their then EU partners and purified shellfish aren't as in demand on international markets which is why EU consumers decided to avoid british producers.
