Wow, he's improved so much!
Wait, what you’d play him as attacking midfielder? I doubt he’ll ever get the chance thereWonder how he will be under Amorim.
Amorim doesnt play wide wingers but very centrally based inverted wingers.
The need for Antony to dribble (which is his weakest attribute in the PL) will be heavily reduced because his starting position will be much more narrow under Amorim than with Ten Hag.
All he has to concentrate on is passing, shooting & pressing from a more central position which in theory should make his game easier as he will be trying to take on the CB's more so than the fullbacks (which will be the wingbacks job).
He’s already put him in training as a wingback. Small sample size but that’s more likely where he’d play.Wonder how he will be under Amorim.

I can see him being useful over there as he has a good work rate and likes to get struck in. Also, I suspect given our CB injury record, Dalot/Maz are going to be starting at RCB a lot. He’s already put him in training as a wingback. Small sample size but that’s more likely where he’d play.
" Don't fear the man that's practiced a thousand moves once, fear the man who's practiced one move a thousand times"Training his one move
He was right wingback in yesterday's training
Interesting the training videos showed him at RWB rather than left
He's the most one footed player I have ever seen which I didn't think was possible after Valencia and Shaw.
Makes no sense to play him RWB as you want that overlap and delivery and you will need a good right foot from that position, I'm hoping he tried it in training and Amorim realises straight away that he's not the guy for that role and if anything LWB suits betterValencia will never be beaten in these stakes. Antony definitely could take 2nd place though. However if he's to play RWB he surely needs a bit of variety and to use his right foot more than once in awhile.

One of the "wing backs" is Inverted and cuts in with the "wrong foot".Makes no sense to play him RWB as you want that overlap and delivery and you will need a good right foot from that position, I'm hoping he tried it in training and Amorim realises straight away that he's not the guy for that role and if anything LWB suits better

But then isn’t the right sided attacker quite narrow too? Who holds the width on that side? Or is the intention to have one side of the field intentionally narrow and one stretched? One of the "wing backs" is Inverted and cuts in with the "wrong foot".

I’ve not kept up with the deep dive on Amorim’s tactics.

That right-footed goal surprised everyone, including Van Dijk who glitched out as the shot went past him I can't recall him ever getting an assist with his weak foot though. He has litterally scored and assisted for us with his weaker foot despite being part of a so-called disfunctional team including a crucial goal that stopped us being knocked out of the FA Cup by Liverpool.
Yeh and Valencia scored and assisted with his weaker foot ocassionally. He was still incredibly one footedHe has litterally scored and assisted for us with his weaker foot despite being part of a so-called disfunctional team including a crucial goal that stopped us being knocked out of the FA Cup by Liverpool.
Quenda is left footed playing on the right. He has made two crosses so far this season. Really dont think «overlapping and crossing» is the way Amorim make use of his RWB.
I understand that Antony is not the most likeable fellow in the world. And he has been frustrating at times. Maybe even often. But I really hope the new staff get through to him and help him get out his potential. I was very sceptical when we signed him, but I do think he has a few qualities that is very underrated.
And after several years of Rashford, Martial, Greenwood and Sancho I really appreciate his intensity and aggression.
He definitely has some very useful qualities, which almost everyone seems to have forgotten about. Which is, I guess, fair enough seeing as his cameos have been very very poor, going back quite a while.
When he’s playing well he does things that all of our other attacking players (apart from, arguably, Amad) don’t. On the ball, he almost never gives it away cheaply and is able to carry the ball up the pitch from deep, while consistently finding a team mate at the end of his run. Off the ball, he works very hard is extremely solid defensively. These are good - and unusual - attributes to have in our squad. But ultimately he needs to add end product or he’s done here.

Valencia was a very strange player. So one footed as you say but on the very very odd occasion he used the left it was nearly always a beauty of a cross or he's absolutely twatted a shot towards the top corner.Yeh and Valencia scored and assisted with his weaker foot ocassionally. He was still incredibly one footed
Which of those is he good at?Wonder how he will be under Amorim.

Surely not?! He's only scored 11 non-penalty goals in his United career.Im not going to defend antony much, but I think he's scored 3 right footed goals for us. Possibly 4.

Off the top of my head, he scored 3 very similar goals where cut inside on his left foot from outside the box vs Man City, Barca and Betis. 2 very similar goals vs Arsenal and Everton were he finessed it with his left foot.
Anyone else care to fill in the blanks? I'd be stunned if he scored more than 2 right footed goals for us.
