Playing wingback isn’t going to make much difference as he still has the same flaws and limitations. Today was a typical performance from him and I’d expect more of the same going forward.
Agreed. He really tried. I am not keen on him, but I think he will improveHe wasn’t awful, which I guess is a step in the right direction for him
He was an upgrade on James when he signed. Despite him not necessarily lighting the PL on fire when he joined, he did score some good goals and looked composed on the ball in build up.Biggest flop I can think of. Keeping Dan James would have been better
Dan James would have been a useful player in this system.Biggest flop I can think of. Keeping Dan James would have been better
His left foot is a bigger problem than the right. He has very poor passing/crossing skills, and his only strength is apparently crab dribbling what is only effective if he's on the right hand side. I don't see him as an option for left at all and no wonder he never played there tbh.I'm literally at a loss why he's never being used on the left hand side when he's that left footed he refuses to use his right foot at all.
It's so frustrating as it's almost like he's got no movement in his right foot at all.
And lost the ball. Zero output. It was a poor signing for us and best to get ridShoot me but I don’t think he was that bad. He’s always a trier. Completed multiple take ons vs his man.
Yeah I thought he was okay too. He did feck up a couple of actions but more positive than the other two.I actually thought he looked good when he came on. Did more than Rashford and Garnacho.
I think that's a bit expected with him hardly been playing, but winning the free kick was great work by him and he was positive in his actions offensively and defensively. He definitely has use in this set up.Yeah I thought he was okay too. He did feck up a couple of actions but more positive than the other two.
I think on the free kick, he was a bit unfortunate, didn't have an option for the cutback and to score from that angle on his left foot was always going to be extremely difficult.
He did give ball away shortly after that free kick situation (few minutes perhaps). Still, given Rashford's and Garnacho's performance it wasn't bad. Still it's clear Antony won't be around anymore if an offer comes at some point next summer. Really expensive mistake.Should have done better for the chance he got, but he was okay. Did not do stupid things like give the ball away cheaply at least.
I would never play him again just off that shot on goal from the free kick routine. To have such a lack of technique and ability is unforgivable.
Was such a poor attempt and just shows how shite he is.
Difficult, but not impossible. He's clean through on goal. Giggs scored his goal against Arsenal from a not too different position, for instance. Hit it hard and high, and you may score. The goalie has to chose - you either block low and make yourself big, like Onana does, but then you are susceptible to a high ball, or you stand taller, but you are susceptible to a low shot. From that close, you have to choose. Antony's shot was weak and placed chest height. If the goalie felt cocky, he probably could have chested it.Yeah I thought he was okay too. He did feck up a couple of actions but more positive than the other two.

He's not going to offer anything though. He's a poor crosser and a poor passer, and will most likely get rinsed by a solid winger. He'll work hard probably, and he controls the ball well enough to deal with a press, but that's about it.Still think we should try him at LWB. The lack of a left footer providing width kills that side of the attack.
