As pertinent as the budget is, I think we will see some movement on the goalkeeper front because it's just so urgent, but I don't think we will get someone who is particularly fancied due to those constraints. I personally think we should go for Diego Costa but we can't really expect to compete for him. It will just be a relatively dull appointment who will be more reliable and steady.

James Trafford is a good shout for his age and English league experience, but maybe they will go for someone more experienced like Jan Oblak who's been around the block and could offer short term stability and nous. Nick Pope is another decent goalkeeper who might be available for a decent fee. It's pretty underwhelming but that's where we're at right now and we need someone who's simply solid, has experience, and won't cost that much.

The problem with Onana is he creates goals from the other team out of nowhere. Most of these errors are unforced where there's barely anyone in the vicinity. Like I can understand palming a shot that was already on target into your goal but some of these errors are lunacy and others come when it would be easier to simply do nothing

Onana is shambolically bad. I was dumb founded by the signing, classic United paying £60m for someone who went on a free the season before. He is ETH all over, the worst judge of a player in a supposedly top level manager in history. Plenty of others pointed out his fundamental flaws, which were never going away. He constantly palms the ball back into dangerous areas, even when he makes a save. As for ball playing its woeful. The obvious singing at the time, available for half the money was Reya. PL proven, good on the ball and a genuine sweeper keeper. Sure he had a rocky start but he's been solid since.

I agree. Communication is key in situations like that. A simple "KEEPER!" from Onana and the goal would have been avoided. Dorgu is obviously also at fault for not having the slightest overview over where his teammate is.

He also had a injury riddled last season there and many of us were sceptical about his injury problems… those who were, turned out to be right. The worst thing above all that is the fact that even if he was fit he was never going to play in his best position under Ten Hag. So we did all this for a player who basically had no use to us…
Onana and Antony are crap players we wasted money on, but Mount was a worse business decision than them both, on and off the field.

I supported him last year, wanted to think that he was a top keeper, suited to modern football, but the truth is alarming.

He costed us the qualification in CL last year, made more mistakes than crucial saves.

His foot game is not exceptionnal, so it makes him a very average keeper.

I always said that we needed to move De Gea (especially because of his wages) but only for a better keeper, thing we didn't do.

Hope we sell him this summer bring some cash in and start a new chapter there
