I don't think he's at fault for the second goal at all. I've seen plenty of goals scored just like that against the best keepers because they cannot commit due to the possibility that the attacking player will get a touch.

Normally it's just popular to automatically pin it on the goalkeeper.
 
Deserves all the criticism, no keeper has made more mistakes at United than him. Can't be trusted, that simple
 
United went downhill since he took place in goal. Cant be a coincidence
 
The biggest thing for me is that he will have to play in the europa league (as Bayindir is injured) and end our unbeaten run with a stinky mistake.

His initial movement is back towards his own goal, instead of forwards towards the ball. If he goes towards the ball, then either the ball hits him, or if Delap gets a touch, then it probably hits Onana as he would be so close. By retreating, he left himself horribly vulnerable, as the only way he saves it is if Delap hits it straight at him or he ignores Delap and focuses on the cross.

Of course Delap narrowly missed it, the ball went straight in the net.

Didn't like the defending from Maguire and especially De Ligt. Can't they play offside in that situation ?

He needs to call him out, bench him as soon as possible and make it clear he has no future at the club.
 
Genuinely atrocious. The amount of mistakes he's made in just a season and a half is unprecedented. We could recruit a decision-chicken to pick out a random goalkeeper within the £0-5mil. price range, and I cant imagine he'd be any worse than Onana.
 
He’s so so bad. I’m not sure even his strongest defenders could say too much in defence of him much longer. He is shockingly bad
 
Clown. To think we spent 50M to get him to replace De Gea. Another one of Ten Hag’s disastrous signings that we will be saddled with for years.
 
Once again his footwork is trash. Jumps from the spot instead of actually closing the space/meeting the ball or committing to an action. Decides to do a Grobbelaar/Dudek impression instead.

I think he is worse than these two, there's at least hope someone would spend money on them but no team would do that for Onana.
 
I think we have to at least get a stop gap next season, not sure who though. He can’t be undisputed number one.

Majority of blame for first goal as he just wasn’t in command of the situation, bit unfortunate with the second as those sort of goals always look bad. But it’s just error after error and he just isn’t up for the job.
 
Form has dipped since the league game at the Emirates. Bayinidir may not be the answer long term, but if he's fit for the Fulham game, i'd get him that one and take it from there

Onana's worse if you consider the amount we paid on a goalkeeper

He's the 3rd most expensive GK of all time!!

I think if you watch again de Ligt tried to push out but Delap bullied him back so it's good forward play.
 
He's just not cut out for playing at the club for whatever reason, pressure maybe?

For the first goal he can see everything that is happening in front of him, he has to be in full control of the situation. Either scream at Dorgu to get rid or stay on your line for the pass back.
 
Fault isn't zero sum regardless how much Dorgu contributed. It's already his responsibility to make a shout to the defender. Instead closes him down in silence. I don't know what he even wanted to do with the ball in that situation. He would have gotten pressed. It made more tactical sense to ask for a pass

Only keeper worse than him was the Ipswich keeper and they replaced him in January

If you listen to players speaking about VDS, they always talk about he brought a sense of calm, and a high level of consistency which meant there was never any doubt in the defenders mind.

Onana brings the exact opposite. He creates panic. Panic among defenders, panic among the crowd because you just know there is a blunder in him. Many posters have pointed out that he has really poor keeping technique, so this isn’t a form thing. He will always be an error prone keeper.

Please give Bayindir a go when he gets fit.
 
We must get a new keeper in first thing in the summer. First priority.

Might as well have kept Henderson. He's far from fantastic but Onana is Paddy Roche level (for those of you who are old enough), and we would have saved £50m.
 
No sugar coating it, he's fecking awful. Get rid, he's costing us far too many goals, you can't be a consistent team if your keeper gifts the opposition goals all the time.
 
I'm starting to think we should DNA test him to see if he's really the same keeper that Inter sold us. He seemed so assured and confident in that side, but since joining us he's been shaky from the very start, and his unpredictability puts jitters into the defence.

The first Ipswich goal is a great example. It could have been avoided by Dorgu, but the situation only came about because of unpredictable and frankly bizarre behaviour from Onana.
 
Always been a critic but even the harshest of us couldn't have foreseen going from POTS contender to a goal a week gift basket.
 
He is fecking desperate.
The first goal, any decent keeper is screaming at dorgu to clear it or screaming at him to leave it or pass it back.
Some communication has to happen. If you watch, he doesn’t say a word and wanders out into no man’s land. That is genuinely unforgivable.
Second goal I have some sympathy but a truly top class keeper might recognise the safest option is that delap doesn’t touch it. If he does fair play it’s a goal but in the end he does nothing as he wouldn’t have saved a delap touch anyway given his indecision.
An absolute must to get rid. Put John O’Shea in nets above him.
