Anyone still defending him? Every match there is a mistake from him now. Those rebounds, diabolical! Technically he’s just a poor goalie. His distribution is a little wank as well. It’s like shifting Smalling because he was poor on the ball, with Maguire who is poor on the ball but lacks pace.
 
Is quickly becoming, if he isn’t already a matter of importance to replace this guy in the summer.
 
I've been changing my opinion about this guy throughout his time here with us. He's had enough opportunities and I've seen enough to realise that he is not the long-term solution for us in this position. He makes too many mistakes and causes us too many issues at the back. I don't trust him. He has to be replaced.
 
The header on goal comes from literally the same spot where he made the save. All he had to do was stand back up and punch/catch it
 
I'm done with him.

Tried to give him the benefit of the doubt for q season, but he's just not good enough.
 
I blame Ten Hag for so many of our problems, imagine getting rid of De Gea and wasting 60 mil for him
 
Absolutely everytime there is a shot on target, no matter where the ball goes, we all know there is a high probably it goes in the net. If it's straight on him, he somehow manages to give it back. If I was the opposite manager I'd just instruct my players to shoot on target whenever they can. Onana will take care of the rest.

He started the season so so well! But since Ruben has come in, he has been in the worst form of his Utd career. EVERY SINGLE SHOT is parried into the danger zone.

It’s amateur basic keeping. He wasn’t doing this at the start of the season. What is Vital doing in training?
 
Parrying the ball away from danger is part of the absolute basics that goalkeepers get taught from an early age, yet Onana consistently does the opposite and it leads to us conceding goals constantly. Terrible goalkeeping!
 
Fed up of this chancer. Second goal he's just watching a ball hanging in the air instead of using his hands.

Even for the non-penalty he's so poor again pushing the ball back to danger.

He must create so much uncertainty at the back
 
I’ll tell you something, Erik ten Hag bought a lot of duds in his time with us. But this guy, feck me, this guy takes the biscuit. He is so shit, it’s unbelievable. I’d have Taibi over this guy every day of the week, and twice on a Sunday.

This, one thousand times, this. Every half decent shot is parried into the most dangerous area, at least once a game. He has to go.
 
He actually dives past shots and pushes them back into the middle. Not to mention when Everton had it wide, with one player in the box, and literally could only cross it - but instead of actually leaving his line he gives up a header on target from 6 yards out.

His passing was terrible too, just looked terrified of backpasses and hoofed it out of play.

His and Maguire's clumsiness just infects the entire team and robs them of confidence.

He's not just watching though is he? He's getting back up having just made a save from close range. The passiveness comes from Maguire.

Yes, but don't forget Antony. For me those two are some of our worst signings in the last 30 years.
 
Sell sell sell. Even if we only get a packet of monster munch, him not being in our goal is the main thing
 
How many times is he going to cost us at least one goal in a game?

A basic fundamental part of goal keeping to push the ball AWAY from the danger. Amorim needs to drop him as we are starting 1-0 down every game with him there.
 
Is he the worst starting keeper in the history of our club? Genuinely asking, because we have a pretty good history at the position and this guy sticks out like a sore thumb.
 
I think he might be one of the worst goalkeepers in the Premier League.

Every shot he saves goes forwards, and it’s usually because his positioning is poor to start with coupled with the fact he’s just so slow to go down in the first place.

Between Onana and Hojlund I don’t know which player I would replace first but they are the two biggest weaknesses right now.

Maybe, but even then he's dramatically made a save that I don't think he needs to end up on his arse with in the first place
 
He is just so poor technically. No amount of general playing ability can make up for that. We need to give Bayındır a shot, and see if he is up to the challenge. He is 6' 6'', and seems to be a much better shot stopper.
 
Shocking keeper. Every parry is in the 6 yard box to his front instead of away from goal to his side. Not too mention the utter lack of physicality. We'll undoubtedly concede more from his glaring weaknesses.
 
I don't know why anyone wanted this guy, if anyone actually looked at his highlights before joining us you would see that parrying shit back into danger is his speciality.

This guy is clearly an outfield player playing in goal, there is not a single goalkeeper in the world that does this shit consistently.
 
He has a fundamental flaw in his technique and he has since before we bought him. Said this before we got him and hoped it was ironed out.

Issue is, with his confidence so low he's just doing what he knows. Swinging his arms, saving shots with his palm square to the ball and not caring about where the ball ends up.

One of the reasons it's so alarming is that De Gea; at his peak, was one of the absolute best at catching shots or saving with soft hands.

It's why I was so against Navas replacing him all those years ago. Another keeper who was like Onana.
