I thought the second goal was worse. What made him not just come and claim that? Third goal was a ridiculous mistake but the second was really bad decision making

Big mistake for the third, the second one he either needs to come out or stay on his line. He seemed indecisive this time although i think he shouldnt have come out at all. It was a good cross from Wellbeck that Onana likely couldnt reach if he came out.

Nah, I reckon if he is aggressive on the second he can, at the very least, punch it.

He's so flat footed and indecisive

He's just not it. He doesn't have great keeper instincts, presence or technique and on top of that he makes frequent howlers. Move him on in the summer and get a new number 1.

Pound for pound one of the top 5 worst keepers I've seen in this league.

Had a great start to this season and was probably our player of the year up until November or so. However, there's just no excusing shit like this anymore and how often it happens.

that's enough. How nice it would be to have someone around like Kovar. We are really fecked. we need to upgrade 6 other positions.

He is the most inconsistent keeper in the league. Not sure that can be disputed

Get this waste of fecking space out of this club. He's got as many mistakes as De Gea in his final years without any of the shot-stopping ability.

Technically he's just such a poor keeper. Like his fundamentals are all wrong. Horrific signing
It’s so obvious within a few matches of watching him too. The only people defending him were using stats to do so, which kinda says it all. I’ll repeat what I’ve said consistently, he has big problems when the ball is low.

He’s fecking shite. Do you want to talk about it and discuss how he played well in x game or y game? He’s an absolute calamity, always a mistake in him. Rubbish.

I wouldn't play him again out of principle, he's a clown and should be sold in the summer.

Think it is hard to put into words just how catastrophic Erik Ten Hag's transfer policy was for this club. He has totally ruined our squad with a few of the worst signings in the recent history of the club.

I'm ready to move on now, and echo what others have said about the 2nd goal arguably being worse. That's a cross that every other keeper in the league quite easily claims, and yet he just stares at it.

Investigate him for match fixing.

He reminds me of David Calamity James at Liverpool. Capable of great saves, but then an unforgivable amount of inexplicable howlers.

His game vs City which made us sign him was just a coincidence. It was him at his peak. But his average level is somewhere between Kuszczak and O'Shea.

Just another EtH's dud. That Pep Guardiola is my idol really left us in the gutter.

Hilarious that he has fans

I’ve seen people defend Rashford the last 4 years though so you just have to accept that some people really are clueless,

Should be the end of him now, hopefully we can scrape £20m or something for him in the summer, a complete donkey

Onana needs to be dropped, simple as, he costs us so many goals. I would say every other goalie in the Premier league is better than him, and we paid 50m, it's signings such as him which have put us in this ridiculous situation.

Amorin needs to grow a pair and drop him..

Far to many of the players have a clown moment in them.

When Onana has his the chances of getting away with it are very slim.

He will make these mistakes over and over and over and over again.
A complete and utter clown of a keeper. Inspires no confidence whatsoever. People get excited cos he makes saves, most keepers can make saves.
He isn’t commanding, his passing out is over rated and he makes so many unforced errors it’s unreal. Just a total shambles of a goalkeeper.

He makes errors far too frequently for my liking, you can’t rely on a keeper like that long term.
Yeah I agree. Let’s not pretend he’s always been shite, he’s had some good performances here and there but you can’t plan around a keeper that makes that many mistakes. Bartez was similar in some ways (though I’d say he was a better keeper). Just isn’t sustainable.

I thought that as well. Ridiculous that he didn’t come out to save that.
Yeah, Brighton's second was also on him -- perhaps even more so. Like I said this is becoming untenable and he needs real competition for his spot.

Got to some off his line and claim the 2nd imo, but that 3rd goal. It's almost like he's thinking what to do next with the ball rather than focus on catching it first. Sometimes looks like his footwork is cumbersome. I like Onana, and I was hoping early in the season he may turn it around, but my concern is his inconsistency may start to manifest throughout the team. "A great goalkeeper is worth 15 points over the course of a season,” Sir Alex Ferguson once said.

He oscillates too much. Sometimes he’s genuinely very, very good, and other times he does stuff like this. In a weird way if his performances weren’t so volatile I think he’d have less flack

I’m embarrassed for all of the posters who felt the need to defend him for the last year and a half. He’s the worst keeper in the league.

His ball playing ability is vastly overrated which is meant to be his biggest asset.

A keepers ball playing ability is so overrated in general - there were people on about how many assists a goal playing keeper was going to get us

He's rubbish, I'm done with him.

Listen to Rio Ferdinand's interviews when talking about VDS he didn't speak on Edwins ability but the psychological confidence you get as a defender knowing that there is a highly capable individual behind you between the sticks. And how that same confidence then runs throughout the team.

The only thing Onana is giving the players is anxiety, I don't care how modern, modern football becomes, a goalkeeper should as a priority be judged off their ability to restrict the opposition from scoring. All the nuances like playing out the back and distribution are seconded priorities.

If INEOS have any ambition to not make themselves look clueless like they did with Ashworth and sack yet another manager in place of their own incompetence they put him up for sale in the summer.
