Not remotely at fault for the 3rd. That was on Martinez.

2nd was 100% on him and generally poor all game.
Mostly Martinez, seemed like he could've cleared it but thought Martinez had it (fair but proved wrong) but probably need to see it again, maybe out of reach

And are you saying that he doesn't deserve it? He's been a nightmare signing for 50 million. He single handily put us out of the champions league last year and nearly cost us the fa cup. He's a clown and needs sold.

He had a bad game, doesnt mean he needs to be replaced.

He didnt knock us out single handily, he actually saved a penalty to keep us in. That total team collapse after the Rashford red card played a role in the knock out too. He was very bad in the CL though last year. Cant deny that. He was pretty good the second part of the season. He won us multiple points with his saves this season. He has been our best performing player this season. Hopefully this game is just a one off disaster game. Goalkeepers make mistakes and they can be costly and even more when the team isnt that good and cant make up for his mistake.

Unfortunately we have a goalkeeper that started off badly so fans who wrote him off because of his bad start are now enjoying their 'told you so' moment after Onana shut them up for months. The responses here are so predicatable. He is a very good goalkeeper and will be our goalkeeper for multiple future seasons.

The second goal looks bad on Onana but the whole team is caught out on the start of the second half, Gibbs striding at goal and just has to pick his spot, whether he reads the direction or not it's flying in. The momentum of the move and shot is too much having watched it a few times.

Arsenal have unsettled him. Needs to be brave, come through the crowd and punch or catch anything in the air. Rooted to his line when the ball's in the air. As for the second goal, just falls like a sack of potatoes. Totally misjudges it. If he just stands up he can stop it on his instep even.

Shouldve done better on the 2nd goal but commited himself to going to his right too early and thus was unable to adjust himself to save it when MGW went down the middle, other than that he didnt really put a foot wrong.

Clearly rewriting history here. He let in a number of dodgy goals that cost us. This isn't some kid that we brought up from the youth team, he's a 50 million pound signing that can't save a shot that was straight at him.

Absolutely no excuse for conceding that goal!

Onana has generally been considered to have had a good season so far. He's looked improved, but a lot of saves have been straight at him or those you would expect him to make.

de Gea got crucified for his errors. Onana should be no different. I have no confidence in Onana to make the straight forward saves.

We need a more convincing keeper, but I suspect the goalkeeper position is right down the priority list.

He has been performing as a 50m goalkeeper this season. Today he had a bad game.

Wasn’t his distribution supposed to be world class and way better than de Gea? He’s not shown anything to indicate he’s better than average at that since he’s come here.

I’m not convinced any team can ever be successful with a keeper who inexplicably drops clangers with the regularity he does.

He’s had a good season up til now, but these sort of mistakes are in his game and aren’t going to go away at this point.

Thought he’d finally found his feet, but that was spectacularly poor today. Cost us the game.

Been the best keeper in the league this season. This game was horrific, no two ways about it. But willing to write it off if he keeps performing as he has. Absolutely cost us the game today though and looked like an idiot at the end with that free kick

Id much rather a solid 7/10 keeper every game than the yoyo nonsense Onana provides. Should have got Raya.

It's one game but hopefully he can not let the lack of confidence extend too far beyond like it did last year. That would be the last thing we need

He tends to have these bad performances. He's been good for most of the season but at fault for at least two of the goals today.

Amorim will need to drop him at some point as a warning shot.

Bad error with zero excuse for the first one....not sure the constant changes is making life easy either

He singlehandedly threw us out of CL. There is no need to rewrite history there.
Could we have gone out even if Onana didn't commit howlers? Maybe, who knows. But he did mistakes again and again in that campaign. It is a pretty rare occurence for one player to have so much influence on an exit, but Onana did it.

He is not a very good goalkeeper. He is ok. He is far better than the crap he did today, absolutely. He has been much much better all season. True that as well.
One can hope its just a bad day at the office for him. And he will continue to be adequate.

shockingly bad performance today.

Did everything wrong on the 2nd goal.

Didn't take charge on the 3rd (though mainly Martinez's fault)

Wasting time at the end taking the free kick near the half line

Really disappointing howler on the second one. I hope it was a rare occurrence and he won't go back to his 2023 form.

Not sure what he was thinking on the second goal apart from maybe trying to predict where the shot was going and being flummoxed by it.

Awful today maybe the weather I don’t know but we need to calm down. He saved us so many points this season.

Goalkeepers are going to make mistakes by design…

2nd and 3rd goals he can do better.

Poor performance today, sickener because he was playing so well all season. Hopefully he doesn't drop off again.

Second goal was an odd one. Looking at the camera behind the goal you can absolutely see why he went to the right. It looks easy to blame him but the swerve on the shot was horrible.

For those wondering what he does better on the ball than De Gea. Teams don't bother pressing us so far up the pitch anymore. They used to know De Gea would rush a clearance.

Just no,
There is no excuse at all for that goal being conceded.
its an embarrassment and probably one of the worst mistakes a United keeper has made since Taibi.

He often does this strange technique where he commits too early to guessing where a shot is going to end up, perhaps because he doesn't trust his own reactions. That leads to us conceding too many avoidable goals each season. At the age of 28, he's not going to change his style. I would sell him in the summer and find a more capable shot stopper.

He was a disaster today but in fairness has been a lot better overall this season.

I really cant understand why anyone even try to make excused for that goal, it just make them look stupid.. He has been good this season, but this was, as you write, one of the biggest mistakes since Taibi

There's no defence for that second goal. It was dreadful.

Look two things can be going on here. First he has been playing better and this be a one off. But second is quite clearly the goal was a complete feck up and today he had a stinker. 3rd goal was borderline from him just fluffing about but wasn't exactly glory from anyone else.

But shit people some swerve doesn't excuse him being nowhere near a shot that goes right down the middle where he was. Honestly I'm still not sure how his feet don't get it even with going the wrong way.

Only time will tell if this is a one-off or he reverts back to last seasons form. One could think that such a dent in his confidence could drag down his form.
