He's been the absolute least of our problems in the opening games.

We kept losing the ball and leaving ourselves 4v2 at the back in transition and we wonder why we've conceded 3 goals.

Any shot low down in the corner he just never saves.
I just don't think he's a very good keeper.

A decent keeper saves the third by not being about four foot out of position.
world class trait of DDG - great positioning. often overlooked with great reflexes on top. SHame we couldnt get both.

Problem is we want to play front foot football but have super slow midfielders who are not able to run up and down and close the gaps. and recieve the ball under pressure. The tema set up to press maximum 5-10 minutes per game would be bottom percentile in the league again. Until then we will invite pressure and concede chances. That means we will concede goals because Onana is just average shotstopper.

If we dont concede them he will be much more useful but manager is just clueless being schooled by Arne Slot after working with the team for few weeks, same as Brighton manager and others previously. How could he think that this would be a good keeper going forward?

Shooting low and early is pretty standard though, it's not something players are specifically doing to target Onana. It's not really proof you're talking about, just confirmation bias.
The law of large numbers (over the course of the season) would eliminate most anomalies though. It's like saying the casino business being a profitable one is just confirmation bias.

How do we solve a problem of De Gea with another problem in Onana?

We can’t even make the excuse to his poor shot-stopping ability as we can’t use his ball-playing prowess.

I hope the next manager makes the change, as Ten Hag won’t. I also hope the leadership of the club move players like this quicker.

Yeah unfortunately to many he's a symbol of Ten Hag, and therefore gets blame for things out of his control.

He was middling today, should have been better positioned for Liverpool's third but no keeper is going to have a good game when we're serving up overloads on a silver platter all match.

Do you have the numbers then?

Positioning for the third goal was strange, reminded me of when Henderson also left a post wide open against Salah a couple of seasons ago.

3 shots on target for Liverpool, 3 goals.

Last season, it was a recurring theme that the first shot on target was a goal as well.

Make of that what you will, but he brings absolutely no comfort to the defence. And his famed footwork is average.
He may look calm with the ball at his feet, it doesn’t mean he’s great with it.

We should look to change our keeper

Having just painfully rewatched the highlights he's actually in the middle of the goal. The image shown somewhere earlier makes it look like he's further over than he is.

I stuck for him last year, but what was he thinking for the third goal? It's starting to feel like all you have to do to score against him is get the shot on target.

It's like when you don't have a goalie for the weekend game with your friends, so you put in goal whoever you can. Atrocious positioning.

This guy is the worst shot stopper i can recall in 50 odd years of supporting united. You shoot you score. We sacked of DDG the best stop stopper for this clown because he can supposedly pass a ball out to defenders and a midfield who can’t pass.
He’s division 3 level as a keeper. Replace asap.

Said he was terrible on day one. He’s still terrible today. Worst shot stopper I’ve ever seen at the club and I saw Massimo Taibi

I promise you the next manager will get rid of him. He's a really poor shot stopper. Struggles massively with low shots, and his passing isn't as expected.

Awful shot stopper. Our next manager will surely replace him the first chance he gets. Unfortunately I think we're stuck with him until Ten Hag gets sacked (which will probably be within the next 12 months).

He will be here for the rest of contract because no other club will be dumb enough to sign him.

He is an outfield player playing in goal, he has zero goalkeeper abilities.

I think it's safe to say that we'll have a new manager and keeper come the start of next season.

The van de beek of goal keepers. Myth and thales about what he can deliver, you only need this and that and he is Jesus. But nobody has ever seen it

His positioning seems off quite a lot of times and people saying his passing has been better, I thought it was off today both when going both long and short.

The only ones who still defend him are the ones who lectured us about how his ball playing ability was going to revolutionize our play style which it clearly hasn’t.

His passing is woeful as well. Shouldn't be anywhere near a PL club.

I've watched many "lesser" keepers knocking the ball about or clipping it out to a full back much more comfortably than Onana this season and we're 3 games in.

Every shot we concede is a goal. Not his fault for the concession of shots but he doesn't save anything and looks horribly out of position at times.

Neither ball playing or a keeper unfortunately.

Said this in the ground today we lost 3-0 and I don't think he made 1 save. Everything feels like it ends up in his net and none of the goals were his fault.

His distribution was very poor today though.

Nope, 3 shots 3 goals.

He was exposed again on the cross for the second (?), much the same as Brighton.

But it always feels like if the opposition have a decent opportunity to score they do. No DDG heroics, no fans clapping for a save well made to get us out of a hole.

They shoot. They score.

His passing is terrible. Every match he's hoofing it up the pitch to no one or it's a panic clearance booted out into the stands. Hands up sorry oops my bad. Bore off.

If your overriding reaction whenever your goalkeeper makes a decent save is that of genuine surprise, it's probably not a good sign.

I know we have bigger problems than him, but he's dived over and past the ball for the second goal then given them an open goal to aim at for the third. its like he doesnt know where he is in his own area
