Get rid of him as soon as possible. And he can take Mata with him on the way out. Nothing players.

Poor game again. Constantly chases for the ball full pelt and leaves massive gaps for players to run into. It's too easy for opposition players to draw him in and then pop quick passes straight through midfield. By the time he stops sliding and turns, 3 or 4 players are past him.

With a heavy heart I'll have to agree with you on this. Herrera is one of those players who'd give his absolutely everything for our badge and would have the occasional great game, but ultimately just not good enough to start regularly for a club of our stature.

I've defended him previously but not today. He was awful today, absolutely awful. Consistently out of position, wasteful with the ball, ponderous and rash in equal measures. He and Mkhitaryan just aren't good enough for me at the moment, they're both suffering because of each other and it isn't good enough. The number of times they got in behind us because of one covering for the other was mind blowing.

Classic case of a player who turns up when the team are coasting. I got slaughtered on here for calling for him to be sold last season. Can’t play in a midfield two so what’s the point of him? Seems a top lad but we can’t keep him for that.

His shooting with his right foot has been terrible for years so the genius decides that this season he's going to start taking shots from 23-30 yards out with his left foot on the volley. Fecking infuriating and seems to do it every game now.

Cant stand him personally. Such an unlikable person the way he makes a drama of everything. Looking at his performance they havent been good enough this season either.

He's had a poor start to the season. Losing his place to Matic and then Fellaini has knocked his confidence and now he's in the team, there's too much of a burden on him to create and be positive and he's shrinking in his role.

Needs to get back in form, or he will be shown the door come the summer.

He's become useless on the ball. He was never the greatest, but at least before he showed some composure at times.

Nowadays, he just blasts it forward or returns it back to the center backs when he has time to turn forward or play it forward.

This is true and a massive problem for us every time he plays. Although it feels harsh criticising anyone for being too enthusiastic when the lack of enthusiasm from at least one other player was such a disgrace today.

He might be a nice bloke but he's just not very good at anything - aside from making a meal of any tackle he receives and picking up cards for fun.

So true. He does this all the time. Basically whether he has the ball or not he has got zero composure

I like the effort he puts in but he's just limited as a player.

I said a long time ago, as long as Herrera and Mata are regulars in the side we won't win the league.

Wasn't he one of our best players last season? He's having a poor season but people call him a nothing player and similar. I think playing in a midfield 2 with Matić is not suiting him. But of course that's not an excuse for poor run of games.

i assume losing his place to Matic after having a good season has affected him. He is a bag of nervous energy in everything he does now

The team is in shambles in big games away.. He was better than Matic and had to cover for the non existent Mhikitaryan.. He saved us so many times in the first half closing and covering.. He isnt a great passer and has never been, but he needs to stop this shooting nonsense.. Had an solid 6,5 game.. This agenda is getting ridiculous..

A man mountain in our midfield. Tough as a pair of Sir Bobby's old boots. Never goes down, love the way he can stand up to a 50 50 and never feigns injury.

I would never imagine him to wave imaginary cards or dive, and as posters have pointed out, he is close to Roy Keane.

Yep, that's sums up Ander.

That was supposed to be funny or I missed something?

You're drinking the good stuff mate.

He’s improved slightly since the low point at Anfield but he’s still a problem. The killer is that as Hererra has improved, Matic has gone off the boil. As a pair they’ve been awful from the get go. Just don’t complement each other at all. Their “partnership” needs to be retired pronto and Matic has shown far more, individually, earlier on this season than we’ve ever seen from Ander so it’s him that keeps his place.

So suddeldy ...he turned from our favorite boy to be the black sheep :o

That's harsh innit? Matic was pretty good today considering the other personnel in there (Herrera & the Invisible Armenian)

He was always paired with either Pogba or Carrick last season though, meaning he was given the role of the workhorse that kept things ticking and covered for his more creative partner. Now that he's paired with Matic (who's better defensively), the onus to create and fill the void Pogba left is on him and I don't think he's the kind of player that can do that. His best attributes are defensive ones these days and as it's down to him and Mhiki to be the main playmakers of the team, he looks even worse as passing to Mhiki is equivalent to passing to the opposition. Apart from it being a case of poor form, his limitations are being exposed a lot more this season.

I agree. That's why I think some of the reactions here are completely OTT.

Herrera shite, Young shite, Rashford, shite, Miki, shite, Mata, no longer the Chelsea Mata, shite, Fellani, decent season, still shite! This club needs overhaul...possibly start looking ahead to a more attack minded manager.

I've been noticing something this season and I can't stop noticing it now. When there is a high ball and there is some form of aggression from another player near him he'll get into some sort of fetal position and let the other player jump over him for the header uncontested.

Or he will just puss out of the challenge all together and/or let the ball bounce. Strange stuff, he's in a funk that is for sure. Maybe needs to push up field when Fellaini is fully fit and play as an AM.

This is exactly what it is. He looks nothing like he did last year because he has to play a different role. It's not really his fault, but it's not good enough. Mkhi does nothing to help either.

It is harsh to say he did nothing, he was doing a lot of defensive work, unfortunately he has been wank on the ball.

The Caf won't notice this though

Fellani lost the ball twice leading to chances, matic did same at least once and has been caught dawdling with the ball with the opponents nicking it off him but yet these two and especially matic are messiahs come on earth to most people

I would love for Herrera to pass better but defensively he has been astute and hardly does he make errors leading to chances but as long as you're not creating or a goal threat then you're shite on this forum
